Another haircut question - any ideas for medium/shoulder length hair?

Following hair-related questions from Stephanie and Parsley, I have been inspired to ask for suggestions for a hairstyle for me. I have been growing my hair longer just to see how I can change it up. Haven't had a cut for a while, going to see a stylist in a couple of weeks. What would you suggest for a modern style? I have always liked women with great looking, well styled hair but I never seem to have the time or skill to maintain mine.

I have a choppy angled bob - I posted a pic the other day. It doesn't have to be as extreme as mine, but it's a good, easy, versatile and edgy cut for me. Do you prefer sleek and polished or more wash and go looks?

It's funny, Una - I was actually going to ask about the angled bob style in my original post. I like sleek and polished on others but my hair never seems to be as sleek as I would like - probably has to do with the fact that I don't use any hair products. I have not thought of a possibility of an angled bob looking edgy like yours, this is actually a great idea! My thoughts were more along the lines of this - and I was not sure if that is too staid.

I have an inverted bob similar to Una's as well (but a little longer and less choppy.) I am in dire need of a haircut right now, but here are a couple of selfies from when I had just gotten it cut. I do have pretty straight hair though so I don't have to worry too much about straightening it, etc.

I am considering going a little choppier for my next haircut, but I am not sure how it will grow out. (I am notoriously bad about getting to the hairdresser in a timely manner, so I prefer a cut that can grow out a little and still look OK.)

ETA: I use no product, ever, and I just let it air dry. The last photo is what it looks like grown out a bit and with nothing special done to it.

That cut you posted is similar to mine, actually. Mine is shorter in back and longer in front, and also a little more "ragged", although my hair naturally wants to be sleek . It's super-easy and I can flat-iron it for a straighter look or let it go to be more RATE. My hair is probably a similar texture to Diana's.

Makrame, I think you'd look really good with a sleek bob. You'd have to do just a little bit of styling, though, since you're hair seems to have a bit of wave. Would you be willing to either blow it dry with a round brush or use a flat iron to give it the sleek shape?

I think yours would look good like Diana's or Una's, although yours would require a little more work to achieve the same sleekness.

The other thing is that beachy waves are also in style, so you could go more for that look. Truly though, the best ones rarely just "happen" that way for that look, either.
If you can stand another Pinterest board, here's another one of mine with lots of sleek bob styles. You could easily stay a little longer than these, too.

ETA: I love the example you posted, too! You could absolutely do that, and I think it would give your style a nice edge.

I think you'd look great with an angled bob, but agree with Parsley that your hair's texture has a bit of a wave, so it would be good to consult with the stylist about what is possible.

You have a long graceful neck and nice jawline. Short, blunt wavy bob with bangs. Add some product and scrunch your hair occasionally while it is air drying. Try google images "short blunt wavy bob" or here is an example: http://www.prettydesigns.com/s.....unt-bangs/

Thanks, everyone! Great ideas and pinboards, including the thoughts on styling. I currently style my hair with a round brush and a blow-dryer but it clearly is doing its own thing - perhaps I will need to use some styling gel or other product plus a flatiron or a curling iron, depending on which style I choose. I have always thought of my hair as mostly straight but it clearly is not as sleek as Una's or Diana's.
