Anna-inspired Sam Edelman Jerome Silver Oxfords Y/N?

Anna reminded me today that I have had silver oxfords on my wish list for a year at least. These are on ebay in my size -- NWOT tags, buy now for $58. Does anyone have any experience with these shoes? Any reaction to them?

I have bought the very same shoes a few months ago but I am yet to wear them. From wearing around the house they were pretty comfy and TTS. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I think they're adorable. If I hadn't just bought silver slip-on sneakers, I'd be tempted myself. My experience with SE in general has been good, even though I can't speak to those particular shoes.

I can't speak to those shoes. I like SE style wise very much. Comfort level a bit less so. I usually need inserts to make them more comfy, so I need to go up half a size.

Those and the gold versions were on sale at some Marshalls stores (a couple of months ago unfortunately) and I tried them on, they were very cute and seemed TTS (I'm a low volume 8). As a high vamp shiny silver shoe they were a little blingy for my dark winter wear at that point so I didn't get them, although in hindsight they would have worked great with summer whites.

ETA: if I remember correctly they didn't have noticeable padding inside, they would have maybe needed an insole to be comfortable for long days.

Your comments are really helpful, Rabbit. In fact, there is another ebay seller selling a pair in my size with a $34.00 starting bid - and they have a Marshall's sticker on the sole! I may wait out that auction while I continue to think about these. The question of whether the silver will work as well in the winter is really interesting. Thanks for bringing that up.

I love my mirrored silver oxfords and wore them today actually. I wear them like silver ballet flats. I vote yay. Versatile.

Viva, if you consider wearing oxfords in winter I envy your climate!
For me oxfords are spring / summer / early fall shoes.
I find silver very versatile color, my silver pumps and slipper flats go with virtually everything - and I use my mirrored silver tote all year round!

Sveta, it's really about the snow. Where I live in Maine, we are so close to the coast and so far south that we often don't get snow until January, so it can be cold but dry through the end of the year. In that case, I would wear oxfords (or booties) with socks through Christmas.

Rabbit was really making me think about the silver shoes with cold-weather colors. But I've decided that I would like silver shoes with denim and navy, , gray, and black sweaters -- so I think I'm going to try to get the cheaper ones ($35) on ebay.

Way late, but I vote yes! I love mine, even with my wide feet, they are very flexible and comfy, though probably wouldn't wear with a skirt

Oh! Silver oxfords for the holidays! (And for wearing the other ways that you mention, Viva.) I think they'll work brilliantly.
However, I have yet to buy anything from eBay. I would be wary of buying shoes, unless I had tried them on in a store, because they can be so hard to fit.

I did not, Elizabeth. It was a difficult decision, but a few things made me hold off.

1. I have similar wing-tips in brown nubuck, and I'm not crazy about how they've aged. I have very low volume feet and they look sort of collapsed and flattened out on top. I think lace-up shoes may not be my best bet.

2. What Dashielle said. I'd love to be able to wear my silver shoes with a skirt, and given my experience with my other oxfords I probably would not.

3. The picture below. Even DH liked these JCrew silver loafers much better. I think their shape would hold up. Right now they are out of my budget, but perhaps by September ....

So I have left the SE oxfords to other ebay buyers .....
