Ana--Recent Outfits

Hi Everyone!

Okay, I wasn't perfect with getting every day (it's been a bit hectic), but I wanted to post what I have so far. Thank you to those of you who helped me figure out the album thing. I hope this works:

Yesterday (2/12) I was wearing a yellow top I swapped from Sarah, and shoes that I got from Patience! :D

I'd love feedback, especially about the denim pencil skirt from Tuesday 2/3 and Wednesday 2/11. It's the skirt from J. Crew that I ordered. I've had it hemmed once, but I wonder if maybe I need to go even shorter with it? Like, maybe to just above the knee? I'm short, and I worry that it overwhelms me a little.

Thank you so much! :)

lovely, as usual! i'm particularly coveting your green dress and the red top you wore on wednesday. sooo chic.

Oooooh! The Friday outfit (green dress) is absolutely amazing! Gorgeous! Stunning! (Love it).

Also Thursday (the robin's egg blue top with jeans) is just lovely on you. The shape of the top is very flattering.

Otherwise, I agree about the pencil skirt. Have you tried pinning the hem up a little higher to see if it improves the look?

I love all your outfits. Especially 2/3 and your red eye glasses.

The skirt looks fine to me if you'll keep wearing it with flats. Below the knee skirts are better with flat(er) shoes. I feel like skirts of this length have a slimming effect. It could be hemmed if you're planning to wear it with knee high boots in the future.

What a stylish week! The green dress is amazing on you. I love your touches of white, especially in the last picture.
I like the denim skirt the length it is but could also see you wearing it a little bit shorter. How do you feel in it?
You look like springtime.

Superb week Ana. That green dress is more than killer!! Where is it from? And where were you going - you look amazing!

I'm no expert about skirt lengths sorry. Although I will say the green dress is shorter and it does look great, although you are wearing heels with it too. That hasn't really helped any, has it sorry!!

So fun Ana, you always dress in a manner that makes me smile. Your colors are so beautiful. That green dress on you is killer. I love your colorful hanbags, shoes, and trench.

Great week, Ana! I always look forward to your color selections.

I really like the nautical theme on Tuesday. That's a great navy jacket, too!

I adore the green dress on you! And the white belt makes it even more fresh. Smashing!!!

How are you liking your red trench? Is this one from a swap?

Looks like you're having fun with your new bag. :) It looks great, the color is even better than I remember. I really like the shape and details, too.

It's always so hard to choose a favorite; I would have to say the green dress. I love those shoes with the green dress. My second favorite is Tuesday and I agree that robin's egg blue top is gorgeous!

As for the denim skirt, I'm of the mind that the lower your heels, the shorter the skirt needs to be, and the higher your heels, the longer it can go. So I would want to see the skirt with high heels and I'm guessing the length would be perfect. But if you're going to wear it more with flats, then yes, maybe shorten it. Or even consider duplicating and hemming the second one shorter so you have one for flats and one for heels. It's a very nice denim skirt so perhaps duplicating is the way to go?

With that said, I find the length looks just fine on Tuesday, but a tad too long on Wednesday. I think the reason is a matter of proportion: on Tuesday you tucked in your top, on Wednesday you left it untucked. Also, your shoes on Tuesday are lighter and on Wednesday they are darker, so I think there's a visual illusion.

I love the Tuesday jacket. What brand? :-)

And you are making me want a white watch... despite the fact I haven't worn a watch in 20 years and I hate watches!

Also Ana, what brand is that robin's egg blue top from Thursday? Please spill the beans! (Nicole, hope you're following this thread, that was for you!)

I love Sunday's outfit! Re: the skirt -- I think it looks lovely as is, but could go a bit shorter as well. Shiny gives sound advice on this point.

Ana, another great set of outfits! I love the robin's egg blue top on you! Such a pretty color. Also LOVE your hair, I hope you're really enjoying it as it really suits you! Your glasses rock as well! I'm inspired by all your skirts and our weather is warming up so I can add a few more into the mix now. Thanks!

Laura, I could be wrong, but I think that blue top is J Crew from last year.

Wow Ana, you look fantastic ( you always do though ;). I adore that green dress on you, absolutely spectacular. I agree with Shiny on the skirt length/ heels thing -
the length you have is great for high heels, but if you'd like to wear it with lower shoes I'd shorten it a bit.

Thank you, everyone! I really appreciate the feeback from you all! :)

The issues you bring up with the skirt are good. I think Shiny hit the nail on the head with flats vs. heels. I like wearing heels, but for practical reasons, I almost always wear flats. I think I will hem the skirt a little more. I'd love to duplicate it, but I don't think J. Crew has it anymore. They will probably have something similar, so I will try buy one again to hem with heels when I find another skirt.

Yublocka, I got the green dress on shopbop. It's Elie Tahari

http://www.shopbop.com/marley-.....shopbysize

It's also available from Saks, but I think it's still full price.

Lena, the trench is the one I ordered from Bloomingdales. I've been getting a lot of wear out of it lately, because it's been cooler or rainy. It makes me happy to wear such a bright trench on gloomy days.

Shiny, the black jacket from Tuesday is by Jameson(?). I found it on Saks site during the huge sale they were having. I tried to find it online, but I can't. Sorry, Shiny. :(

Laura, Dani is right, the blue top is from J. Crew last Spring.

Thanks again, everyone!

Hey Ana thanks for passing the dress info on. Just had to say you rock it totally - I love it on you better than their model!!

Ana, is that blue top the same as the green one you swapped with Laura? It looks very similar. I tried that one on at the YLF convention, btw, but it was way too big sadly.

You look beautiful in that green dress (and everything else, but the dress is really killer).

Ana, I've been meaning to respond here and am just now getting the chance. I think you could just start your own fashion catalog. You look fabulous! I'm the lucky one who got to see the green dress outfit in person. (That's what she was wearing when we did Sarah's closet sweep get together.) Maybe most importantly you look like you're having a ton of fun.

Hey Ana, I was wondering what you would think of wearing the white tipped blazer from Express with the yellow dot top I swapped to you? I'm not sure how it would look, but I know you were looking for more ways to wear that jacket.
Of course the green dress is my absolute favorite. :D

Every day is a stylish day for darling, Ana! Nice to see you embellish your handbag collection. They are ALL fabulous. The umbrella too :-)

I love the length on Tuesday’s skirt. It a nice change. You wear both lengths well. So elegant and sophisticated. (That’s my favourite outfit). Love the green dress too! But all the outfits are amazing and you make looking good easy and effortless. Well done Ana. You are a classy gal.

Ana, I meant to ask how high you are wearing the denim skirt. My experience with the jcrew pencil skirts (although I didn't try the denim one) is that they sit at my belly button and don't need to be hemmed at all to hit my knee. I'm surprised that you had to hem even a little but I guess you probably are wearing it at the right height.
