I live in a desert, but we've had A LOT of rain in the last couple months. On the tv news they have shown graphs of flooding at various locations. This website shows points in the US where there are gauges. After you enlarge the map, you can click on one of the points and see what's going on. The color indicates the level of flooding, if any. It shows the actual and the forecast. I know I'm a nerd, but I think this is fascinating.
