I love pinstripes and especially "medium" colors that are so hard to find.
I would go with what the fabric wants to do, how it drapes and so on .
For buying ready-made items that would usually be more business-type wear and I aim for classics (pants, pencil skirts, jackets) and add zing with tops or accessories (or colored shoes!) but if you are making your own garment, there would be lots of options!

Fun fabric! I would choose a long vest and pleated high waist ankle-length trousers for myself

Maybe you are like me, Diane, and certain odd color combinations in fabrics can make you salivate! That sludgy green with those thin turquoise lines . . . I get it. And when you said Vivienne Westwood--oh, yes. One of those skirts hiked up in pleats on one side making the stripes do wonderful diagonals, and/or a fitted jacket that looks like it's buttoned up wrong--how I love those mad genius designs of hers! Please do that, and the "underwhelming" menswear stripe will come alive in a wonderful way. I can absolutely see in on you.

Fun fabric can't wait to see what you do with it.

Carter, yes, I do like the look of wide legged pants I'll give that some thought.

I agree Aziraphale, absolutely nothing wrong with a men's suiting fabric Good point regarding culottes.

Exactly, Unfrumped, it is an unusual colourway too. That's what appealed to me.

Fun idea Aida!

Tulle, I love your enthusiasm. It's very catching

Cheers Debbie!

The fabrics will arrive tommorrow, but goodness knows how long it'll be before I can make it up...a bit more work came in today for me!! The money is welcome, but I want time for me too...argh!

Glad you ordered! I love that it's menswear with a feminine twist. If you sew a vest, it wouldn't be quite next to your face in the way a dress would. . .a blouse/shirt would intervene.

Diane, I like these colors and they would be a natural on you. Culottes are wonderful way to go and/or how about a gilet?
