I am drawn to these boots.

I was looking for more foul weather boots--something that I could easily slip on and off, taller than an ankle boot, but no higher than mid calf. Something warm and cozy and made for walking on icy patches. Of course all of those boots are ugly, which may be why I'm mysteriously drawn to these.

I don't think foul weather boots have to be ugly. They'll probably never be the most stylish solution in your wardrobe, but they can certainly look good enough to not disrupt an entire outfit. Some of the non-ugly slipper Uggs that have been posted around here are actually pretty nice.

They seem limiting with the design but the wedge heel looks comfortable. Will they be fab with your coats?

I like them, too. You don't have a lot of print in your wardrobe so you wouldn't be competing with other stuff you have. They'd be a fun addition. And I can't really think of a better time to add some fun than when the weather is cold and icy.

Obviously I adore the shape of the boots. The design is quite playful so I can see them cheering up dreadful winter days.

If you're koo koo than I am too. I think they're cute! I wear more prints, so I'd probably prefer a solid, but I was eyeing some almost identical to this for my trip last week.

Yes, the heel may be too high. I wish the description was more descriptive. I have a 3" heel height max--especially for something I'd be wearing in the snow. I'd also like to know if the calf measurement. Unlike those of you with skinny calf problems, I have a chunky calf situation--and one calf is a good half inch chunkier than the other.

Wait, I am confused about what you mean by foul weather boots. I would never consider these to fall into that category.

Sorry for the confusion. These are not tromp around in the snow boots for sure. I was looking for those kind of boots but didn't see any that I liked. I stumbled upon these, which I love. But I still need to be concerned with how I could walk in them if there is ice underfoot. As there is ALWAYS ice underfoot from December til March. I would wear them with skirts to work, not out to play in the snow.

Not to be a poo-pooer, but I honestly just don't see how they solve your problem. The first brands I would look at is Aquatalia or LC, or another warm and/or waterproof brand that is made with good traction and winter wear. Wearing such high heels on ice sounds like a death wish to me, but that could just be my own aversion to very high heels. Even if you prefer heels, I think there are other brands made specifically to grab the ground below.

Maya, If I were to actually get these boots (which I'm not planning on doing), they would not be for what I was orginally looking for. It's like looking for a formal gown and coming across a day dress that you love.

Right now, I have a pair of snow boots that are very sporty. I wear them to shovel snow and sledding with the kids. I have a pair of non warm rubber boots that I wear when it's wet and muddy, but not cold. I own several pair of stylish boots that I wear with skirts, dress slacks and jeans--both tall and ankle length. (BTW, my red LC boots are waterproof, but not particularly warm).

What I was originally looking for was something like an Ugg, but cute. Something I could wear with jeans but out to the mall, the grocery store, and maybe even a restaurant.

I am fully aware that the snowbunny boots I originally posted are NOT going to fit the bill. I was just throwing them out there because I thought they were cute. I honestly don't need another pair of fashion boots. But the price is VERY tempting.

The JC Penny style looks great. I’d wear those in a heartbeat. I wonder if that’s weatherproof suede, though? Sort of defeats the object if they weren’t.

Well I was thinking I could spray them with a waterproofer--but it's a moot point now. I tried to order them and the website says they are unavailable. I wonder if they have them in my local store though. I'll have to give it a shot.
