They are cool and stylish stuff for any wadrobe

Reading all the ambivalent feelings about white denim jackets made me realize why I was so bummed the CM Faith white moto didn't quite work for me. I ADORE my white leather moto, but leather is not summer-appropriate around here. If I had a lightweight white denim or twill moto, I probably would wear it more than my more straightforward white denim jacket. But I'm happy enough with the one I have for now. I figure I can keep an eye out for my jacket's eventual replacement, perhaps in a moto style, but no rush.

I am so relieved some of you are actually getting some action from your white denim jackets! I just made the jump myself with this one:

It has two buttons in the back for adjustment at the waist and it changed the whole look of the jacket for me when I moved the lapel one button to make it tighter. The back swells a little, giving it lots of shape. I hope to wear it a lot with dresses as well as other outfits. I always have a hard time pairing a topper with dresses in the summer.

I adore my denim jackets! I have three: a light AE (shorter than the dark wash, no stretch), a dark AE (longer than the light wash, a little stretch), and a million-years-old white Geoffrey Beene for Women. I love the fit of all of them. In fact, I'll be bringing out my spring/summer clothes today, and I can't wait to wear my white denim jacket! Of course if I had a white moto, the white denim might finally get pushed aside...

I didn't think the denim jacket discussion would have so many comments, but I'm glad it has as it makes me realize that yes, it can work and that maybe I should consider tailoring more often (though mine does fit pretty well already).

So many people seem to want the elusive white moto spring jacket (in cotton or cotton-linen maybe and unlined please) - I wonder if we'll see one of these available anytime soon...

Unable to find white denim pants last year, I picked up a white denim jacket instead. My first denim jacket ever, BTW. Love it, and can't wait to get it out again. Maybe in another month?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the boxy shorter shape of this jacket is similar to the iconic Chanel jacket but without the formality. I wear the jean jacket with work dresses and pencil skirts the way some wear the Channel jacket with jeans. It is that juxtaposition thing that Angie refers to.

That one jean jacket serves the practical purchase of a cardi as well, since it is a good weight for indoors and has resulted in a purge of all, but one of my ( frumpy) button up sweaters.

Runcarla - your white denim jacket looks great! Thanks for sharing.

Sally at Already Pretty has a post today about styling denim jackets:

Adding this post to my favorite's. I've just purchased an ivory ciptyom moto jacket for Autumn/winter and am playing around with it trying to figure out how to wear it (seemed like a good idea when I bought it ). There are some interesting comments and photos in thus thread. May start my own thread once I've had a play or may just dive in with a WIW.
