AJ - Outfits week of 9/1

Well, I've had a cold all week and been working from home so it's been a mostly lounge wear week. But I did get out of the house a couple of times and here are outfits using pieces that survived the closet clean out.

1) Working on campus -- shapeless lavender cardigan belted over a cream tee with jeans and sandals. I'm still looking for a belt that I love but I'm hoping I got the look right.

2) Dinner downtown with a friend -- Forthe and Town cream sweater with a pink cami, Joe's jeans, brown pumps -- plus a bridging scarf for the cool evening (although it's draped a bit funny in the photo)

Hi AJ, great way of giving the cardigan more shape. I actually really like this belt! The cardi has a nice warm color on you. I find your sandals a bit sporty looking, though. Have you tried some flats or pumps with these jeans? They could make the outfit even smarter.
I really like how you use the scarf in the second outfit. Your outfit immediately gains punch and style.
I'd look for more ways to introduce additional splashes of color in your outfits.
Love your haircut and the shape of your glasses!

AJ - you're doing a great job after your closet clean out. I really like the color of the scarf - it really pops on you and I think you did a fab job making the cardigan work!

wow - both outfits look fab the scarf looks very lovely - i'm sure it would look fabulous secured in the "lariat style". also, i love the look of the cardi cinched in with that belt. the sandals aren't my favorite though - have you ever thought of trying a ballet flat?

I knew the sandals would get a response! I'm one of those unlucky ones afflicted with plantar facitis (or tendinitis of the feet) so I had to stop wearing ballet flats, heels and sandals that didn't have sturdy soles and back straps. I've gone one whole year without significant pain so I am now trying to move my shoe wardrobe back to something more stylish but still with support. I hope to have new shoe purchases to show off in the near future!

AJ, great outfits. I really love the color of the cardigan on you. I like it with the belt as well. The scarf in the second outfit is so fab and adds a great punch to the outfit.

Sorry about the shoes...I completely empathize and understand how hard it is to find shoes that have a high AAR and are super comfy, but there are some out there

AJ - you look good! Clean and crisp. LOVE the scarf - more please. Walking company and Romax in this area have some really comfortable shoes with arch support that also look stylish. My black and white sandals that I posted today for example.

Love both outfits, so pretty! Great job! I agree on the sandals comments with the ladies above, I'd try a slightly more polished version.

Those jeans are absolutely incredible on you! LOVE them. I know that they are Joe's, but would you mind sharing the name of the model ( Muse ? Honey?) and wash?

Tanya -- the Joe's are fit: Honey and wash: Perry. I really love the way they fit and the denim is so soft. I'd like to get another pair but will need to find them on sale. Macy's had the same fit in a slightly different dark wash but I don't know that name of that wash.

Sihaya -- Romax is on my list for my next venture downtown to shop. I also liked the arcopedico shoes on zappos so I might try those.

That's great AJ - let me know what you think of Romax. You can also try Shoe Advantage that's near the Whole Foods on Roosevelt. There's a Walking Company a block from Romax. And Nordie's usually has a selection of comfy shoes too.

By all means duplicate the jeans. They look INCREDIBLE. You look wonderful!

Pink is your colour. I simply adore the way you belted the cardi and wore the scarf. What are we doing about those brown sandals? I know that's on your list. I'm being cheeky.
