Finding and understanding your body type

Picture posted below: ACK!! What to wear tonight!

So a group of us are going out to this festival tonight (Taste of the Danforth, for those who either live here or are nostalgic for the Big Smoke) :) I'm trying to decide what to wear given that it's rather cool out and might rain. I think I have an outfit in mind, but I need some feedback from you guys based on the various links I'm posting. Sorry, I can't take pics of the whole outfit, as there's no one here right now.

I'm thinking of putting together:
These jeans: http://s709.photobucket.com/al.....8;newest=1
New sweet pea top: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....41&P=3
New moto jacket: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....35&P=1
The ballet flats and necklace in this pic: http://s709.photobucket.com/al.....ggings.jpg

A few questions:
Would this all go together?
- What exactly are the colours in the sweet pea top?
- Would it look ridiculous to have the top be considerably longer than the jacket?
- Would this look excessively fall-like?
- Am I right to think a pair of cherry red flats would not work?
If
I wear this outfit, I'd put on pearls and carry my cream-like handbag (I think it's in some of these shots)

Alternatively...and this may not happen...would the moto jacket look good with the dress I'm wearing in the last link?

Thank you!

Michelle, you have put together a fab outfit. The jacket might make it a little fall-like. I guess it depends how cool it is. It's really the material and the color that make it seem autumn-y. I would probably prefer a more summery fabric like cotton, linen, or silk...perhaps in a lighter color. But it really depends how cold it's going to be. You should wear whatever will keep you comfortable.

The sweet pea top is mostly shadees of purple and red. I actually think cherry red flats would work nicely because they would go with the red in the shirt without being excessively matchy...but the ones you were planning to wear would look great too. I think the moto jacket would look great with the tunic.

I think you've just come up with the perfect outfit for this event Michelle (I had to look it up, and now I'm very hungry!-)

I'd go with the jeans, the Sweet Pea top (not Fallish at all, it has darkish orange, red, pink, purple, purplish taupe and white/cream in it), your new leather jacket (worn open), pearl necklace, cream bag and the cherry red flats (will tie in nicely with the SP top).

So there is a cherry-reddish shade in the top? For some reason I was under the impression the reds in there were mostly rust-type shades.

Michelle, the outfit sounds perfect! The red in the top looks like true red and definitely not rusty, so I like Maya's suggestion of cherry flats.
As for your last question, I think the jacket will look great over that dress as well.
Have fun at the festival!

I'm too late but I *hope* you took a photo! I really want to see that sweet pea top on you... I'm expecting it's totally fab.

Thanks, girls! I went with all suggestions except I opted for the bronze flats instead of the red ones. I felt a touch more comfortable with the colour combo I was picturing, plus they were more broken in and comfortable for being on my feet all night. Hope my friend's shot of the outfit turned out ok!

I LOVE that top, Michelle. The jacket looks sumptuous. The outfit is GREAT.

I do think you can and should try the red shoes with the top sometime, though. I think it'd be lovely.

I hope you had fun.

Oh! And I just saw the outfit!!! Absolutely KILLER. And so is McClure! A big fat 10. The colours and the silhouette are brilliant! You are gorgeous :0)

Glad you approve, Angie! :) I love the moto jacket, somewhat to my surprise. Still getting used to the shorter length and higher collar, but I'm so glad I purchased it. It got loads of complements.
I love the style of the sweet pea top, but worry it may be too tight? Can you see that much or is the jacket hiding it?
The blackberry trench just came the other day and I fear I may have to size up on that, too... Ugh, it's been a bad few months, hence the potential upsizing...but I'll get your take on whether or not it will be necessary.
And yes, Woofer (aka McClure) is the best ever, and I only have 9 days left with him! :(

Oh how sad- do guide dogs get to a certain age then have to be retired? x

I’m glad to hear that you love your biker jacket, Michelle. It looks sensational! Such a refreshed edge to your style. The possibilities are endless. I promise.

The sweet pea top is a little snug around the midriff area but it’s not bad at all. I say keep. Enjoy your last few days with McClure. Good thing you’ll always be able to visit each other at your parents house.

Bring on the pics of the trench.

I am late in responding since I have been away but had to chime in and say how beautiful that outfit looks. I love the leather jacket and I would not worry about the sweet pea top, I would not notice if it was a bit snug. the colors are wonderful on you, it is so nice to see your posts. You are a great inspiration!
