What fall accessories are you liking? tired of anything still trending?

I am loosing interest in infinity scarves, statement necklaces, and never did like the big blanket scarves. still like some larger scarves, longer pendant necklaces, and large watches, although I am not sure they were ever much of a trend. Also do not own one.

I am totally embracing the small square scarves as in photos below. Just ordered 3 from Amazon and two from urban outfitters. One is on backorder and one from Amazon is on backorder.

Also, though not new, I am liking layering the thinner chain necklaces.

I think long, skinny black scarves like the ones Zara is using to style a lot of their online offerings look really cool for this Fall. But since I remember wearing them the last time around (late 60s -- with the advent of the maxi coat -- yikes!), I know they are not suitable for me now. I think they will look terrific on skinny, tall young things, though.

I want to try more brown tones in leather goods--boots and handbags--with blue and black. Not sure that is any trend, but for taller shaft boots with skirts or dresses, I sometimes find it easier to incorporate softer, natural colors in leather rather than moto-black. More English countryside than rocker chic.
I confess I have trouble with small scarves and tight-neck tying looks. Can give me the cowboy vibe or feel somewhat contrived. I've seen others do it well and to me somehow other elements need to look very easy, not too "uptight" to balance the scarf.
I'm not into fringe, if that's trending.

Like Unfrumped, I tend to be attracted to brown leather accents and shoes more than black. And this year brown(or at least cognac) seems to be on trend. I've never been a big fan of the statement necklace on me, so I like seeing the long pendants. I've never felt like "me" in a scarf (except for warm, winter scarves), so that's a look I just admire on others! Are large watches on trend this fall? If so, I may actually be ahead of the curve this time. My favorite watch is a wide, brown leather one.

Alwaystrying, I love the pic of the first scarf you posted. I am of small stature, and most scarves overwhelm me. Maybe I can find some small square ones like this. Thanks for the idea!

I've seen these smaller square scarves in magazines and on-line, but I don't see personally wearing them. Too fussy to tie and who wants something tied around their neck anyways? I still love statement necklaces - probably always will. I'm really liking olive leather and picked up a new bag for fall in that colour. It's a great neutral that is already working with everything I own! I'm done with big infinity scarves too . They are worn by every 16 year old with UGG boots and skinny jeans, and I think they can keep it for themselves

I've been seeing a lot of all-black ensembles with cognac bag, footwear, and/or belt on the streets in Portland. Still only seeing the square scarves in print and on SAs.

I think I'll try a long skinny scarf with my blazers - it's trending but I'm not convinced yet until I try it. I may go for a classic paisley or foulard as a nod to the menswear /70's vibe of it.

I've never stopped wearing small square scarves. Try places like Hobby Lobby that have inexpensive bandanas and look at soft cloth napkins. New cotton bandanas and napkins may need several trips through the washer to soften them up.

Not much of an accessories person, but after discovering pashminas I've become a big time fan. They are in a cedar chest during warm weather, but I don't think I could get through winter without them.

I'm also obsessed with the idea if a beret for winter/cold weather. Not many hats lend themselves to a stylish look with short hair, but the beret works for me.

The small square phenomenon is interesting. Tied around the neck as an alternative to a turtleneck is a solution to the cold for a short haired person. One of my sartorial bucket list items is a Hermes scarf. Maybe now is the time?

I've done the long skinny scarf and the small scarf tied at the neck recently and really enjoy both looks. Also been wearing more long pendant necklaces and collars as opposed to big statement necklaces. I've been wearing fedora-type hats for a few years now, not getting tired of them. I would consider a fringe bag if the right one came along. I've been toying with the idea of the lace up flat, but not sure how often I'd wear them.

I still like infinity scarves and recently purchased one. I bought a skinny black silk scarf that I think will be fun to wear. I remember wearing the smaller scarves tied around my neck years ago; I don't think it's a look that I want to revisit.

I also like a variety of necklaces- simple pendants, layered looks and 'statement' necklaces. (What exactly makes a necklace a statement??)

I would consider adding a fringed bag if I see a reasonably priced one that I like. I don't want to spend a lot on a trendy item that I might use for just 1 season.

Thanks for the note about berets, Runcarla. Fortunately, I kept (more like stashed, on a very high shelf) the collection of wool felt berets I wore throughout grad school 35+ years ago. They compare very favorably to the Gucci one that is featured in the September issues of numerous fashion mags. I pulled the black one out for the first time in many, many years at the end of last winter and found that I was tentatively "feeling it" again. In a few months, it will be time to give the red, camel, brown and grey ones another spin, too. This will have the added bonus of tickling my Mom (now up in heaven); she bought them all for me and always used to tell me to wear a hat when it was the least bit cold.

I can't imagine ever growing tired of big scarves...infinity or otherwise. My neck gets cold and I like to bundle up. I also like a big showy necklace.

I tried wearing smaller scarves tied around the neck like in the pictures above, but I always felt like a stewardess...that's my own hang-up though.

I like the layering on the delicate necklaces too, always trying. I think this is a good look on small-boned people.
