A walking wrinkle

I think I alway post good or solidly decent outfits but, staying true to a promise I made to myself I'm going to post the good the bad and the wrinkled. I went out to celebrate a birthday last night. I knew this fit needed a good Iron taken to it. I just wore it anyway.

Something in my brain just said oh its not that bad. Lol well that was until I saw the pictures. From the neck up and the ankle down I love my fit. Oh well you cannot win them all. My goal during my pregnancy is not to look like I gave up on fashion.

Having said that. I wanted to make jello with pineapple slices. No one at home want to go get it for me. My cravings for it lasted about a week. Now that fit was a hot mess. I wore owl P.J. bottoms a t-shirt and a huge duster sweater and to top it off I wore a batman leather baseball cap and clogs to the supermarket. Lol.

I rarely wear things that have to be ironed. We have a cleaners here called CD 1 price. I may take a few pieces to them.

What I am wearing.
A denim maybe waterfall jacket
An olive jumpsuit
Boots by toms. They have colorful stripes on the side of them.
Scarf head wrap.

Back to the drawing board or n
Better yet the ironing board with this one.

I also know that this fit is to large for me little nugget is still growing. Oh boy

I think your outfit is "darn cute" and love the jumpsuit... a convenient pregnancy FFBO. I am like you in that I tend to avoid pieces that need a lot of ironing. Have you tried using a hand held steamer? Won't give you the same crisp look as ironing, but it will help tame the post-laundering allover wrinkles in denim and cotton-rich fabrics. And it is great for a quick fix when you do not have time to get out the ironing board.

Well, being totally RATE, I wouldn't have known you needed an iron without being told so. Lol. I even maybe think I wouldn't like the outfit ironed... hehe

I don't like to iron either. I think your outfit looks cute. A casual outfit doesn't need to be pressed IMO. Usually wrinkles shake out after a bit anyway.

I'm actually going to wear wear this jumpsuit for my maternity photo shoot. I want to continue the theme from the birthday photo shoot I did last year. You know post apocalyptic with baby and then a shoot for mothers day/birthday and baby pictures when she is born maybe escape from NY or Mad Maxx series.

That would be so awesome.

Oh, I have been there so many times. In fact, I am staring at a pile of shirts right now that need an iron's firm touch. I promised myself (after a photo) that I wouldn't wear them again all wrinkly! But your outfit is fun.

Suz i have so few they pile up. I'm going ro wind up taking them to the dry cleaners.

Forget the iron. Get a mister spray bottle, then mist and smooth with your hand/fingers. If that doesn't do the trick, a few minutes of the damp item in the dryer usually will. If an item comes out of the washer super wrinkled, I mist it a lot before it goes in the dryer and then take it out when it is still damp. Sometimes, I have to do it twice. I rarely iron, but I mist a lot to get a second or third wear before I have to wash something. Saves wear and tear on my clothing and of course does not iron in any funk I might have missed.

Jello with pineapple trumps any iron any day of the week. If I never iron another thing again in my life, I will not be sad . As a matter of fact, where IS my iron ?

My late mom, born in 1925, had three full-size irons, three full-size ironing boards, one or two small ironing boards, and at least two travel irons when she died in 2015. Not sure why she had so many. Maybe she thought they would inspire ironing?

During the Watergate hearings, my mom caught up on her ironing. She would iron as she watched it live. Then when my dad got home from work, he wanted only to watch the *highlights*. So she would watch the re-broadcast, and call him when the juicier parts came on. I don't think she was ever caught up on her ironing after that.

But you still look great...definitely not an outfit fail. I also do not like wearing crushed clothing, so I can understand you feeling that this is not your usual amazing perfection, but it still looks good.

Donna my grandmother had just as many irons. Shr said 1 was for.sheets the other for clothing yet another for curtains table cloths etc.

Yeah, I hate to iron too. I usually stick things in the dryer for a few minutes with a damp washcloth and that usually does the trick.

Your outfit is cute though and I love the striped shoes.

I love to iron, it's therapy for me. If we were neighbors, I'd trade you ironing for jello with pineapple!

I've noticed that some people just look great in wrinkles, it seems to give them a certain je ne c'est pas, but I've never been able to achieve it. But sometimes, ironing just has to take a back seat to more important things, like feeding the little nugget!

I never iron anymore. I got a little hand held steamer and it's perfect for my needs, and cheap. Plus I can use it on things like wrinkled wool suiting that shouldn't be ironed.

Sweethome (a site like consumer reports) suggests the My Little Steamer brand hand held steamer. I have the even smaller travel version, their "go mini", but I'm going to upgrade to the non-travel one.

LaDonna you are so beautifully wonderful and expressive with clothing and words. I am in California, and although I appreciate a bit of "California Crinkle" my family members from Chicago iron everything, even underwear.

I do not iron. About 3 times a year I convince my husband to iron something for me. Otherwise, I mainly buy clothes that don't need ironing. I do sometimes "press" things a little in the clothes dryer, ten minutes on hot then onto a hanger is good enough for me.

You look crinkly cute. I use a Downy anti-wrinkle spray. Just spray liberally and stretch the fabric a bit and it dries with a much smoother finish.

I don't iron either and I enjoy learning all these tips to smooth clothes. This outfit reminds me of one I wore when pregnant with my daughter 27 years ago! It was big and comfy and It fit to the end! My jumpsuit was a dull purplish blue.

I can empathise with not wanting to iron. I think I last caught up a year ago! And my MIL will do some for me when she visits, how embarrassing.

Ha! All of us fashion focused folks who don't want to iron! Totally get it. LeDonna: you rock that jumpsuit and the drapey style seems to camouflage any wrinkles on my screen.

My mother was an ironing superhero. From sheets to my father's boxer shorts and handkerchiefs, she would stand in the kitchen, while listening to news or music. In hindsight, I realize that it was the most relaxing part of her week.

I went through an ironing the sheets phase (love to have the "right" sheets), but am now thrilled if I get to the pillowcase only. I remove them slightly damp and stretch them out. Good to see that I am not the only one with work-arounds.

I enjoyed reading the memories shared about family and ironing.

I really am taking in to account the various solutions to alternatives to ironing.
