I; working on getting a few summer items that are "smart casual" or whatever terms mean a bit dressier than super-at-home-casual. I found both at TJMaxx. The finds below are from other stores. Leaning toward keeping both, would love to hear what you think.
Blue sleeveless top. I love the color and fabric and the general style, and cold see it working into fall with a long sleeved T or turtleneck under it. The fabric is really nice. I don't like the fact that it's dry clean only and I think it's really too long, by a few inches. I would imagine shortening it to look a bit more like the proportions on the model. I suppose I could wear it as a tunic but that puts the emphasis in the middle of my body and ere I'd rather have it up higher near my neck and face.
The dress: I've been trying on a lot of these denim dresses (this one is actually Tencel) and finally found one that I think fits well. I like the stle and the color and I could see it skewing more or less casual pretty easily.

6 - blue top with a skirt - would be better with a longer skirt?
