About your wardrobe and personal style

A tip for easy browsing.

For those of you who use Firefox, try this new addon called Snap Links Plus 1.0.2

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/12728

It essentially lets you 'draw' a rectangle with your mouse around a bunch of links and opens them in separate tabs.

To install, go to the link above and check the box 'Let me install this experimental add-on' and follow the instructions. Your browser will shut-down and start up again. You can then go to Tools ->Add-ons and configure Snap Links to configure which mouse button to use.

Sounds like a great concept - but when I tried to install it I couldn't - said "firefox couldn't install..."
Anyone else had success?

It wouldn't work for me until I went to the developer's own website to see if there was any support for the problem. I just downloaded it from that website instead and it worked. Here it is: http://snaplinks.mozdev.org/

It's a really useful addon.

That sounds so cool. I would love to be able to use a feature like that. The top line of my screen says Youlookfab forum-Windows Internet Explorer. That does the same job as Firefox, right? It's one or the other?

San, this add on will not work with Internet Explorer. If it is possible,do give Firefox a try. It is very easy to install and use. Let me know if you need any help.

Anne, If Dawn's suggestion does not help, check if you have the updated version of Firefox (On the toolbar Help - Check for Updates)

Thankyou, I will give it a try this evening.

Hmm, I don't know how this works on a PC, but on a Mac all you have to do to open a link in a new tab is hold cmnd and click the link. Sounds easier to me. There must be a way to do it on a PC.

Maya, on a PC you can right-click and choose Open in New Tab, but you have to do it for each link one at a time. What this add-on does -- if I am understanding it correctly -- is it allows you to put a box around a lot of links at once, and Firefox will open them all in new tabs for you, instead of you picking them one by one. Very handy for the kind of posts we do here!

ohh, I see.

I don't have to right click (or control click) or anything. I just keep the command key down and just click quickly down the list so I guess that is easy enough, if there are any other Mac users.

Dawn, thanks for that suggestion - it did work and I can see it is going to be very handy and also be gentler on my hand.

Maya, my laptop is a Mac (thrust upon me by work, not my choice since I don't do anything graphic) and I don't see a command key. Does it have another name? Or is that the correct name for the "apple and squiggle" key that is the soul of the Mac universe?
