Nothing new or all that special here, just thought I'd share. These are all from the week before I came down with the latest bug that's been going around.

Pic #1 - feeling a little bit rock 'n roll
Pic #2 - injecting a little color on a cold, dreary day
Pic #3 - worn to a breakfast with some state legislators for a forum on education. My pin says "Respect Public Education: It Works!"
Pic #4 - feeling a little '50's retro
Pic #5 - you just can't have a bad day when you've got a funky bird on your shirt!

Looking good Karie!

Love that burgundy leather in #1 and I think the leopard shoes are a great choice of footwear with it.

#2 is crisp with the red and white. Loving the playful touch from your booties.

#3 is classic and crisp. Like the pointy red toes peeping underneath your pants.

#4..yes, liking the retro vibe of pearls and polka dots.

#5 put a bird on it Fun! Like the chambray shirt peeking out and fab footwear again.

Nice outfits! You look very well put together in all of them. Trousers in #3 look great on you! And I love the polka dots in #4.

A great set of outfits, karie! You look great in both burgundy and red. I can totally copy the second outfit with my red blazer. The bird sweater is so much fun. Hope you are feeling well.

The fit of your jacket in #1 looks perfect. Very nice combo. I also really like your dotty pants. I have been thinking about getting a pair of patterns pants and your pic has helped me to decide. I really like the proportions in the last pic and the color of the booties works really well with the outfit.

Thanks Diane! The leopard print booties (Corso Como, an Angie recommendation) are one of my favorites. I had a bad case of strep with the stomach bug thrown in for good measure. All better now unless the kiddos at school spread some more germs my way.

Karin, trousers are my nemesis. This is the only pair I own as the back waistband/upper hip area never fits correctly. I always wear a sweater or blazer with these as I'm too lazy to alter them.

Mona, I hope you do copy the second outfit. Red is such a fun color and helps liven up this long winter we're all having, doesn't it?

Thanks TraceyLiz, #5 is a v=fav of mine because it's such a fun top, plus it's lightweight so it can go across multiple seasons.

Tracey, AM, and Janet, #1 will always hold a special place in my heart because it was a gift from DH and also because I wore it to the Boston Meet-up. Janet, can you believe that was a year ago? We need another one!

My very fave is nr 5-that birdied sweater is so cute, and layering is perfect! But you couldn't do wrong in any of these! retro pearls look is a nice change from the badass nr 1. It looks like you really have fun with your clothes!:-)

Thanks, Rachy! My wardrobe has transformed a ton since I first started here on YLF. When I look back at my first WIWs, geez, they're awful! And it wasn't so much that I went out and bought all new things, I just learned how to wear what I had. Of course I've purchased new things along the way too...

I hear you about the wardrobe transformation during YLF "membership." I cringe at some of what I posted in my early days. I was getting out of my uniform mode (tees and bootcuts) and made some, shall we say, adventurous decisions? In retrospect, many were not really me, and I feel like I've found a style truer to my preferences, but maybe that is what it takes to learn and grow. I think you're looking totally fab these days, so well done!

Thank you Janet! It would be great fun to do a "My first WIW and now" post. I remember my first post - I thought my outfit looked so good - and now I wouldn't wear it if you paid me. I needed help badly! So many people come to YLF and start posting fabulous outfits immediately, but I wasn't one of them. At least I'm paying attention and learning!

Thank you Una. Yes, I have switched to a peach based makeup instead of a pink based one. I think the warmer tone of peach looks better with my pale complexion.
