The first outfit features Buck, my one dollar Fossil cross-body. Goodwill had him priced at $29.99 but it was dollar day, so all yellow tags were a dollar, and wouldn't you know it? His tag was yellow. For that price I had to buy him and dye him! He was originally red, which had darkened in some areas and faded to pink in others. I chose a Tarrago dye called Bordeaux. I think I will wear him more this fall and winter because of the color, but we had a cool day so I paired him with neutrals: denim shorts, Sperry black patent loafers and my navy and white striped T. My white linen blazer, also from Goodwill covered my neckline and gave me the structure I wanted. I haven't been liking this blazer with skirts, but I loved it with the shorts, and I even wore it buttoned. Two new things for me: loafers with shorts (instead of pants) and a long sleeved blazer with shorts, which Angie mentioned liking in her recent walking shorts post. Thanks, Angie! I might never had the nerve to try this if it hadn't been for you.

The next outfit features a bright blue and white striped cowl neck top, which was an Express mini dress in it's former life. It was also acquired on dollar day, and even though it was way too big and too short, I saw the possibilities. Because it was sleeveless, it was easy to take in the sides (well, it did take me all day, lol!), cut it off and hem it up. I did a lot of basting and trying on, and finally decided I like my stripes body-con. I used another well-fitting shirt with hour glass seaming to draw the final shape of my top. I was so excited when I got finished that I called to my DD for an ice-cream run. I threw on my white hi-lo skirt, metallic sandals, turquoise bracelets and grabbed Big Blue.

The last outfit is what I'm wearing to DFS today. The dollar item in this outfit is the argyle cardi (Cherokee). The turquoise is a little greener than I normally wear, but for a buck, I had to try it. Luckily, this one needed no alteration. I'm wearing my white hi-lo skirt again, bone flats (thanks Angie for telling us it's okay to mix our creams and whites) charcoal and white seersucker shirt (thrifted, by NY&Co.), yellow belt and my old silver satchel. For jewelry, I chose silver hoops and my stack of turquoise bracelets. I'd prefer to wear this with my white jeans, but I can't wear them to work.
