A few new purchases for evaluation

Here are a few new items I'd love to have you comment on and rate. Any of them can be returned, and should be if they are not 9s or 10s, as these generally are investment pieces. Please be honest! Did not accessorize or fuss with proper undergarments -- jus shooting for a basic "keep or return" assessment. Here we go:

1. My husband bought this coat and bag for my birthday:

2. He also bought me this blouse. And the pants are new from gift card shopping excursion yesterday. The pants are black with a blu-ish-grey pinstripe, and they fit.

3. New black straight-leg stretchy knit pants for layering, boots, etc. Shown with a subtle animal print trench. Husband says the trench makes me look pregnant. Patent zip detail booties. Trench is very light and could almost be worn in place of a blazer or other similar jacket. Had planned to use it in that way, with pants, leggings, jeans, etc.

4. Same new straight-leg black pants with a new J Crew jumper and existing black turtle. High black booties. The jumper would only be a layering piece, probably just with these leggings.

5. Black knit uber-comfy dress. Could be very dressy or work appropriate with a cardi or jacket.

You look spectacular in blue! I love every outfit and would be hard pressed to pick a favorite. The new coat is to die for it's so gorgeous! I really like the trench too. I don't know how you could look pregnant in that--I think it really shows off your tiny waist.

I love the jumper with the pants. Very modern--very stylish.

OOoh me likey! I really like the jumper too! The shoes are all great. I like the new bag as well. Those are very flattering coats.

Kyle - great purchases all around
1) I really like the blue coat; and with your flair with handbags, the orange should be very versatile; your husband has good taste!
2) The blouse is beautiful; you look great in blue! And the pants do look like they fit very well and I would think you have a lot to wear with them.
3) I think the trench gives you a very defined waist -- your husband just probably isn't used to a flared look.
4) The jumper really shows off your long legs. You could probably wear it over skinny jeans as well.
5) I only saw a close up photo of the dress (flowers on the front?) The detail is beautiful -- hopefully we can see the whole dress.

1. Love that blue coat and purse! That color is fabulous on you.

2. Stunning blouse! That is definitely your blue! The pants are very nice as well.

3. I love that trench. I think the ways you plan to wear it sound wonderful and it will be a versatile item in that manner. I'm not adjusted to the look of ankle boots and leggings yet, but the boots are very chic.

4. You look wonderful in the jumper! I agree with AJ that you can probably wear it over skinny jeans as well, it would be very nice that way.

5. The detail of the dress is gorgeous. Do you have a picture of the entire dress? Edit: just saw the photo, you look great in the dress! Definitely all keepers!

OMG, I LOVE the black dress with the ruffles! Everything is a keep in my opinion. Your husband has great taste, and I love the retro feel of the blue coat, and the black shimmery one is very modern and edgy. The blue silk blouse is amazing on you! That blouse and the black dress are my favorite, but again, I really love them all. What a great birthday haul!

P.S. Chanel Aura is a really pretty color, and the Rouge Hydrobase lipstick is nice and stays on a long time without feeling really dry. And of course, you know I love the mascara!

As Angie would say - that dress sent me into orbit. You look gorgeous!

Kyle, I have to say...I really admire your sense of style. You are very brave and confidently wear stunning clothes. I also love the black dress and noticed the shoes you wore with it. The color of the coat hubby gave you is delicious and I love it paired with the orange bag. He really does have wonderful taste!

Kyle - killer stunning amazing all the way. I have trench coat and jumper envy. Not only are the clothes great but you carry them off with such style. I disagree with the others when I say that the only thing that doesn't reach this outstanding category for me is the blouse in #2. The color and pattern and fit are great, I'm just not as big a fan of capped sleeves. Overall, I am so blown away by your poise and style.
