You know, we need a picture of you modelling your puffer coats. Weird that the store didn't have much, but I'm glad you got your annual purchase done & what a lovely blouse!

In case it helps, I size up 1 from my actual waist measurement with that kind of jeans sizing, so that there's space for my tush (I usually have to go up one size in skinnies, no matter what the sizing is, for that reason). I don't have any personal knowledge about the Paige's, but Ummlila ordered these & found them to run quite skinny. Here's her post.

I love the puffer! and, is it that rich brown chocolate on the front and charcoal on the back??? like a Gemini coat?

I think the Paige plaid skinnies are in one of the boxes I received today that I haven't opened yet... I will try them on and report. I might model them if they make my tush look good!

Where's LiliPup's pic?

rachylou, I just opened the box and tried on the Paige gray/black skinnies. They are keepers for me. I ordered by my waist size 27" (on good days, on watrmelon-eating days like today is 28", lol. But that watermelon needed eatin') The waistband is 2.5" below my navel, measurement at this point is 32.5"-33". The widest (crotch level) width is 36-36.25". I can't believe the length is perfect on me, I'm almost 5' 4" and they have just the right amount of stack at the ankle. I'll post photos as soon as I can – hopefully this info will be helpful if you decide to order them online.

Yeah, the sell-outs have been really hard on us at the sales level. What a strange year. I do love your pics - I wish I needed a puffer lol. Those Moncler ones are DTF, too, though.

Must have been a whirlwind, Rae! It was just three days and nothing was left!

So wait, Gracie - does that mean you ordered a 27?

p.s. it's all the nice dark brown... Oh I guess that WAS one brown thing, haha!

Yes, sorry I didn't clarify - I order the size 27 Paige plaid skinnies. The photo of the coat shows a totally different color on the back on my screen, charcoal-ish. The rich brown is so beatiful!

You showed great restraint! I like what you ended up with.

Reporting back--with more personal details than I typically reveal! Rachylou, mine are a size 28. I typically wear a size 4 (with a rare 6 or 2 thrown in the mix) at Banana, Gap, Loft and JCrew. For JCrew denim, my pairs are 27, 28 and 29. For Gap denim, 4s and maybe a 6. So, how do the Paige fit as a 28? They are close. Not major muffin top close, but close. I wanted them to have a very punk feel, so they are legging close on me. The SA tried to push me toward a smaller size with the usual argument about stretching as you wear them, but I wouldn't budge. I think most SAs are holding onto an outdated idea of super tight jeans anymore. I tried sizing up, but they were weirdly baggy and awkward around the knees then, while still tight on my calves (which are quite muscular). I thought they were better all-over skinny than fitted-loose-tight. Hopefully that helps!

ETA: DH just came home with coffee (love that man!) while I was wearing the jeans and he quite adamantly endorsed my jean purchase.

Cobalt is a good color - for you, for anyone Been wearing it so much that my boss called it my signature color the other day. Guess it's time to change things up and keep em guessing.
I think Nordstrom, like most sharp retailers, is trying to monitor the inventory levels closely - you never really know how fast something will sell and in these days of sharp profit margins, it's just smart. If demand is bigger than supply then you do hurt yourself but it's a good gamble.

Hmm. I should have been more patient maybe... because ack! I went and ordered the jeans online, and got as the online chat lady recommended - a 30.

We shall see. Nail biter!!

What's your normal pant size, if you don't mind saying Rachy?
For more data points -- I'm considering the Paige jeans in size 29. I'm about a size 8 (sometimes 6). On me, the Paige fit like I think they are supposed to fit -- legging tight, since they are advertised and cut as an ultra-skinny jean.

I also ordered the Jolt plaid pants. Size 9 fits a tad looser on me than the Paige -- but looser in a weird way. I prefer the all-over skinniness of the Paige's on me

I wear a 4 or 6 usually (11 juniors). 28" waist, 36" low hip/seat. I'm short waisted though, so I'm not sure how that changes things.

Yeah. I think you'll need the 28. Maybe the 29, but I think more likely the 28.

Were you at the Stanford Shopping Center? We took our dog in every store there except restaurants. Here, you'd think dogs had Ebola or something.

I went out to Walnut Creek and also Stonestown (but that was straight after work, so no pup). But interesting about Stanford Shopping Center. Lilypup has never been to Stanford Shopping Center. I'm not sure it's ever crossed my mind to take her down - I moved to back to the East Bay from over there in prep for getting a dog in the first place.

A few years ago we were visiting my brother with our dog, and he insisted we take the dog to the shopping center to show us how dog friendly it was. Ordinarily I wouldn't have taken him. But every store had a bowl of water by the door, and quite a few gave our dog treats.

Locally, I take our dogs to the hardware stores, junk stores (antique stores), and nurseries. These guys are kind of rowdy so sometimes I regret it.

Awww. Look at the poochies so peaceful! How could you ever say they're rowdy? Hehe.

Now I have to talk about the Lilypup and how the only bowl of water like that she's ever drunk out of is the one at Tiffanys!!! Oivey. The dog is too much. Lol.

I posted this on another chain, but will do here as well. I wore the Paige gray plaid around the house today and they stretched out rather quickly. So I am definitely not going to need the larger size I ordered for comparison. And it's possible that they may have even more down-the-bum slippage in the future. I just can't make myself get a 26 in them.

And, I love terriers, JAileen! Well, all doggies, really, but terriers especially.

Oh, I see a return in my future.

Ummlila, thanks! We call them terrierists!
