A Few More Outfits

I've been trying to take photos before I go to work...here are a few of my outfits from the last 2 weeks.

http://s289.photobucket.com/al.....mview=grid

Here's the Rundown:
1. Navy striped BR Pants, black tank, Wine top...oh and my new necklace.

2. Black and Grey Ombre sweater dress, black 9 West button down, black boots

3. Burton Puffer, black snowboard pants, pink Giro helmet (no I wasn't working--hehe)

4. KC Denim skirt, Red tank, B&W polkadot cardi, brown boots

5. Grey (sometimes they look brown) Microcheck Gap pants, Green tank, Purple top, black cardi

5. Grey striped BR shirt, White striped 9 West shirt, Charcoal Striped Jacket (this is the one I had the collar removed from). I think the sleeves are too wide though--what do you think? Also is that too much "stripe"??

6. Close up of the collarectomy.

7. Plum Twed Skirt, Wine shirt w/black Cardi over.

I love your snowboarding picture! I've never done it in my life and it looks like a lot of fun.:)
My favorite outfit is #4. You look positively fabulous.
I am not a big fan of the striped outfit, it looks too much stripey to me. However, I think that jacket would look great with jeans. You can also perhaps try a solid shirt under the jacket if you would like to wear with striped pants and post a picture?

Great week, Nicole.

Ooh, I really like how your paired textured tights with your sweater dress in no.2. And I like the color palette in outfit no.5 with green bag and green cami. I will take note of this color combo.

Hmm, I'm not sure about so many stripes in no.6. My advice would be to break it up a bit, but the stripes also create this cool elongating effect. I wonder what Angie thinks about mixing polka dots/other patterns with stripes.

Wow Nicole, You wear skirts very well. Love the textured tights with the boots.

You really have this layering thing..without adding bullk...down to a tee!

My favorite is the outfit with the green bag..super cute.!! again the green top peeking through ...without the bulk, and tying in the bag.(how do you do that?..looks like 3 layer there)

The grey jacket w/removed collar....nice!! (It never occured to me that could be done)
Again, you wear skirts well...you pull it all together like a pro!

Also like your hair pulled back in that one photo.

Great looks, Nicole. My fave is #7. I didn't notice any problems with the jacket in outfit #5, but I do think I'd break up the stripes a bit. Other than that, the outfit is fab.

I think there is definitely too much stripeyness in that one outfit, but each piece seems to work fine individually. I can't get enough of that plum skirt and I LOVE it with red, which is not a combination I would have considered. You look amazing in skirts.

Also your accessories are really helpful. The green bag and the new necklace both really brighten up their respective outfits.

You are really developing your own style. You rock those cardigans like no one's business!

Nicole outfit #7 is gorgeous!! I agree that #5 has too much stripe - do you have similar style pants without stripes to match with that jacket?

Are you losing weight again?

I am in love with that green purse - have you shown that one to us before and I just missed it? It's a gorgeous shade.

Yes I do have plain black pants that I can wear with the striped jacket. I have to be honest though--I didn't realize that every single piece I had on was striped until it was too late. I originally had on a solid black shirt, but thought it was too dark. My white striped shirt was in the laundry room, waiting to be ironed. So I went down to see what was there and chose that shirt. I *should* have substituted the Bratique Helene shirt--but it was at the cleaners.

Shiny, that is my favorite purse too--it's just the perfect size for my needs, and the color complements most of my wardrobe, so I don't usually have to change it out very often. I got it at TJ's or Marshalls...can't remember which. But it's Liz Claiborne.

Maya, the shirt I'm wearing with the plum tweed skirt, isn't really red. It's more of a maroon or wine color. It's actually the same top I'm wearing in #1.

Taylor, sometimes I do wear 3 layers. I just keep the layers thin.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Love the sweater dress with the collared shirt and the textured tights! You've been doing a lot of layering and it works very well; there's a nice mix of textures and colors going on.

Love the pop of green in the cami with the green bag, and pairing it with purple was a smart color combo. The plum and wine in the last outfit is another great and unexpected color combo. You're really developing a good eye for those!

Not crazy about all the stripes, but I like each piece individually. And I know you like to button your cardis in the middle, but you might want to consider mixing it up sometimes and trying new looks with them. I'm like you and pretty busty so I alternate as much as possible to give my looks more variety through the week. It's still mostly layering and sweaters but it doesn't always look the same, you know?

I love all your boots, too; the ones with the ties lend the whole outfit a nice jauntiness to it!

You've had a very stylish fortnight Nicole!!

I love the first outfit with the striped trousers, red top and your wonderful new necklace.
Those textured pantyhose are super. I can't see them very well, but it looks like you're wearing beautiful earrings in picture 2 as well.

The green handbag and cami are so playful and fun. Repeat!

I agree about all the stripes being a tad too much, but all three pieces are lovely on their own.

And I agree with Maya and Taylor: more skirts please!!!

P.S. You must be a natural at snowboarding, you look so relaxed and in control. I'd be scared stiff;-)

Wow Nicole, what am amazing week have you had. The snowboarding photo is so much fun.

I like all the outfits, however there are three that I think are killer: the combo of the grey sweater dress and tights, the one with polka dot cardi and denim skirt, and the one with plum tweed skirt. Fabulous!

On the striped outfit: all the pieces individually are great, but I do agree that three is a bit much. However, I do like mixing stripes and think that any combo of two striped pieces with a solid third one would be great.

You look better each time you post. This has been the BEST Nicole week I have seen to date! The plum A-line skirt outfit and grey sweater dress outfit are KILLER. What did you ever do without your boots? LOVE the patterned hose. Exciting stuff! Even on your board you look stylish. I love white sports jackets in the snow. You have got it going on, girl.

When are we going to see the Carissa shirts you’ve been dying to wear?
(I agree, too much stripe).

Re: The Carissa shirt....I've been waiting for it to warm up. I have a hard time layering the Carissa Bratique shirt under my fine gauge sweaters--the seaming shows thru the sweater fabric. It's been in the single digits and teens, for what seems like months. Which explains all my layering! Today (finally) it's in the 50's. I promise you'll see me in that shirt a lot, once the weather cooperates. It's just been too cold to not have a sweater on.

The snowboard photo was just for fun. I actually really stink at it, and wont get off the beginner hill for fear of killing myself. But it is nice that my family has something we can all do together (even if they are on the bigger trails). We meet up for cocoa in the lodge. We insist that the kid's wear helmets, which of course means, mom and dad do too. I absolutely refused to wear one unless it was pink. HaHa--I don't even like pink!

Again, thank you everyone for the comments, suggestions and ideas. (Thanks to Kristin, I tried to "change it up" a little bit today. It is difficult when the weather is just so cold and miserable.) You'll see more photos later.

Hi Nicole!

What a fabulous week for you! Thanks for posting your outfits. :D

All of the outfits look good, and I love your new green purse, it suits you very well! My favorite outfits are the polka dot cardi and denim skirt, and the outfit with the plum skirt. Everything about that outfit is amazing and very flattering. The stripe on the cami under the sweater is a nice detail, and the scoopneck is just right. I even like your hair flipped out at the bottom like you have it. I hope you wear your hair like that more often, it's really cute and youthful. By the way, how is Mia's hair growing out going?

I am drooling over your chestnut boots. Love your skirt outfits very, very much. And your attitude about snowboarding seems about perfect - avoid the super risky runs, look really cute in your pink helmet and white jacket, and join everyone for the best part, apres ski cocoa, at the end!

Nicole, it was great to see all your outfits. You looked great all week. My favorite is outfit #7 with the plum tweed skirt. I agree with the others, you look great in skirts! Other highlights for me are the textured tights and the green bag. I might have to try some tights like that for myself. Those are really cool!
