A big chunk out of an empty wallet

So... Lilypup had a melanoma and got surgery today. Also, my iPhone 6+ started ghosting so bad, it self-deleted the backup to the cloud. Thus, I am now beyond broke, but there are new accessories: Me an iPhone 7+ and Lilypup a cone. Here are the first two photos, taken with the new low-light camera, of her cone. What do y'all think?

By the way, Lilypup is SUCH an airhead. Ohmigosh. She won't walk through the middle of a doorway. Then the cone edge catches. And then she just stands there. She won't, like, just turn her head just a little bit...This dog has just sat down instead of turning her head...

...She is doing this on purpose, isn't she?

Awe poor Lilypup. Give her a treat and gently tell her that the cone is temporary. Sadie hated hers. She gave us the most pitiful, why are you doing this to me looks. Sorry about the phone. and the wallet.

I'm so sorry your pup had to have surgery. Whenever my dogs had a conehead they got stuck in the doorways. Funny and sad at the same time. A friend loaned me a donut for the Scottie. His cone was ginormous because he has such a big snout. It was much more comfortable for him.

Aw, poor Lilypup, she must be so depressed. Pamper her a lot. She is good that she does not try desperately to remove the cone, as most dogs do.

Poor Lilypup. My dogs all hated the cone. Just look at her sad eyes.

Sorry about all the expenses. It always seems to work like that. Not just one big expense but lots.

Poor sweet, Lilypup. I hope she makes a fast recovery. (You can get soft cones at the pet supply store that are more comfortable, btw).

She wants you to know how much you have inconvenienced her. When I make my dog wear his winter coat, he stands in a weird, sideways-twisted way so that I understand that I have caused him to become disabled. Enjoy the new phone!

Thank you all for the sympathy! It IS real nice to have a phone that doesn't call random people and cut me off while I'm trying to post on YLF and take me to Wayfair to look at a sofa! (What was it with that sofa? Man!)

Oh and Lilypup totally succeeded in getting the cone off. I got rid of the rag the doc tied it on with and put it on a collar...but it's true, she only did that once. I think she realizes I'm serious.

Angie...I think I'll go to the pet store and check out those cones. The incision is only glued together, no stitches, and the vet cone has a rough seam...

Oh poor Lilypup! I wish her a speedy recovery. Xena had one surgery when she was younger (we had her spayed) and she absolutely did not wear a cone at all. We stood guard 24x7. And now we have to mentally prepare ourselves to do the same with Emma soon. Not something I'm looking forward to!

Glad to hear you're enjoying the new iPhone. Isn't the camera just awesome??! I like my phone to be a tad smaller so I use the iPhone 7 and while it may look pretty much like the iPhone 6, it's SOOOO much better!

(But oh man, I should not hide my head in the sand about the eventuality of a new computer. Actually, I went and had a look while getting a cell phone case yesterday. I don't know what I'd get or what I need anymore. I mean, do we care about RAM these days? What happened to 64 bit? Anything? And what is with the squishy screen of the Surface? Maybe a cheap PC and tablet with a pen is preferable...)

Do you use Excel or Word? I only use my laptop when I'm using a spreadsheet. Otherwise I only use an ipad.

My phone has practically replaced everything... but I still use some heavy programs in addition to MS Office that need a laptop...

Poor Lilypup. Poor you. Literally. But, hey, a new iPhone. That's always fun.

No experience with conehead dogs. Way too much with conehead kitties. They are artful escape artists. Have yet to keep one in a cone over 6 days. The only thing I haven't tried is Gorilla Glue, but that might be next. Because I know there will be a next.
