50's inpired dress

Inspired by Angie's post I tried a 50's inspired dress:

What do you girls think?
I'll attend a day wedding in September and this dress is fun! but as I'm not tall, I think the pattern is huge for me..

rute, I love this dress on you. I do not get the impression that the pattern is to big for you at all. Your curves are perfect for this style. Love, love love it!

I love it!! The pattern is so cute. The only thing I would suggest is hemming it a bit shorter (maybe just below or at the knee), that would be even more flattering.

I adore it and it fits you perfectly!

I adore this dress - you look fantastic! I agree about the hem.

You have a great figure for '50s style dresses! I think the pattern is not too big, and agree about the hemming also. Go for it!

Very pretty dress, Rute! Wish it were sleeveless, though.

I think the print is fine on you. Good idea Angie, about removing the sleeves...smart!

Very pretty dress and a wonderful fit on you!! Like Angie's suggestion about the sleeves.

Gals thank you for your suggestions about the hemming and the sleeves. I complete agree with you. I will try to know if it is possible to remove the sleeves.

Wow that is a gorgeous dress!!! It really suits you!! And your hair works with it too I think!!

I think that the dress is gorgeous and is quite flattering. I don't think the print is overwhelming in the least.

Rute, this dress is lovely on you! I can't wait to see how it will look after it's altered + when you add the shoes, bag and other accessories for the wedding.

I kind of like it as is, sleeves length and all. This is a pretty common length in the 50's and I think with such a full skirt it looks good. It is just a matter of changing perception.

I already voiced my opinion on cap sleeves and know I'm in the minority, so I won't press any further on that.

i LOVE this dress, rute! i'm a big fan of the 50's, so this vintage dress is right up my alley! i like it with the cap sleeves! i don't think they're unflattering at all. i like that the sleeves are a little wider than your arm, so it makes your limbs look slimmer than tight cap sleeves do.

I love 50s and 60s styles, and this looks wonderful on you. Would love to see it with some turquoise blue accessories. Yum. Tres chic. Please share the end result!

SO CUTE!! The wide inset at the waist gives it enough structure that the pattern doesn't overwhelm you. What a find! Love it.

I absolutely love it. That's one of my favorite dress styles/shapes. You look great!
