What if you had to choose ONE brand (money no object) to buy clothes from, what would it be? What brand/designer do you think personifies you the best?
Jeez. Probably Loft, as suburban boring as that sounds. At least I could manage for most situations and they offer talls.

What’s one thing you’ve purged from your wardrobe you wish you had now?
Not a lot comes to mind. I do wish I'd kept a few things from when I was younger, not to actually wear but to have as keepsakes. I did have a pair of super-comfy overalls that I'd chopped off into shorts in college that would be fun to wear on weekends.

What’s something you’re hanging on to, but sort of wish you had the courage to let go of?
I've still got a small stash of 'too tight right now' stuff and I probably should just get rid of it.

If you had to choose 5-10 things from your wardrobe (including shoes
& bags) to keep and you had to get rid of everything else, what
would you keep?
*sounds of agony* Ugh. OK, my CJ Cookie Johnson jeans are fitting really well at the moment and are hard to find. Probably my non-cheapie purses, I've only got a couple. Athletic shoes, those suckers are expensive. And probably some pieces for sentimental reasons. Everything else is theoretically replaceable given time and money.

What are you wearing RIGHT THIS SECOND?
I'm slow-booting this morning and I'm still in my PJs. Black knit pants, SF Giants tee, cotton marl socks, and a cashmere cocoon cardigan that was a gift from my DH that I wear almost every morning as a robe.

1. When you enjoy high-low style, you have a range of go-to brands that work for you. Will not commit to one.

2. My Mother's '60s and '70s clothes. My '80s moto jackets.

3. Nothing. I am a very bold closet editor.

4. Too attached to my moderately sized wardrobe. Love it all. I have 25 wardrobe pets alone - and will not give any of them up. And none of them are orphaned.

What if you had to choose ONE brand (money no object) to buy clothes from, what would it be? What brand/designer do you think personifies you the best?

I couldn't. Like Angie, I enjoy a hi-low style and choosing only one would change my style too drastically. But if pressed and without any other options I could probably get dressed exclusively from J Crew, Zara, or Club Monaco for a while.

What’s one thing you’ve purged from your wardrobe you wish you had now?

Nothing. But I lost my mum's diamond (it fell out of the setting) and I wish I had that.

What’s something you’re hanging on to, but sort of wish you had the courage to let go of?

The blonde in my hair. About to let it go.

If you had to choose 5-10 things from your wardrobe (including shoes & bags) to keep and you had to get rid of everything else, what would you keep?

My best fitting jeans (now gone because of holes, sob). A pair of chelsea boots. My Reiss blazer. A silk top. A pair of great earrings.

What are you wearing RIGHT THIS SECOND?

Kit and Ace trousers, BR terry sweater, H&M scarf, Gap tank, Franco Sarto sandal booties, artisan made silver earrings. There you go -- hi-low style in a nutshell.

I'll play too.
1. I like a variety but if I had to pick one brand or designer, it would be Eileen Fisher.
2. My clothes from the 60's and 70's
3. I'm hanging onto too many scarves.
4. Impossible. A seasonal mix for a variety of levels of casual/dressy is needed. I can't be 5-10 item minimal.
5. A casual day. I'm wearing a denim dress over black waxed skinny Joe's jeans ( inspired by Tanya's outfit today), wool socks and slippers for indoors. Going out I would change the slippers for taupe booties and carry a taupe bag.

2. I gained some weight and purged all the slacks that were one size too small. I have since lost that weight. I regret purging all those slacks, but one pair in particular.

3. Although I am wearing my button down shirts again, I believe my overall style has changed. I would love to be able to own up to that change and purge all of those long-sleeve shirts from my wardrobe (I still love the sleeveless button downs). This would be a huge decision so I continue to waffle.

4. Pearl necklace (signature piece), pearl earrings (signature piece), fuchsia tote (signature), black slacks (signature), dark navy jeans, navy long sleeve tee shirt (cosy), grey and cream stripped sweater (signature), black and cream silk blouse (fabulous), pink sleeveless button down (signature), and white tee shirt (cosy).

5. Kut from the Kloth herringbone leggings and white tee shirt. Barefeet.

NOTE: there is not one single pair of shoes that made the 10-item keep. I don't love my shoe collection in the least. They are ALL utilitarian. How sad is that?

A cardigan that was a nice gift from my husband. He grumbled when I said I wanted to pass it on to a new home. It is really nice and apparently I look nice in it (!), I just don't wear it.

New Chelsea boots, camper ankle boots, camper sandals, extremely soft and nicely cut tshirt from Anthro, swingy blue jumper from Jigsaw, Anthro white shirt, Hiut Denim jeans, yoga trousers and long yoga vest from Sweaty Betty. Cross body leather bag from Toast.

I do not have loads of experience with brands however this year I purchased 2 Calvin Klein coats and have been so pleased with them.
Possibly a plaid shirt that my mother had made for me but it is purely sentimental. I do have a quilt that she also made so I placate myself with that.
I am blushing to say out loud that I have 4 rubbermaid containers of items that I am not wearing mostly due to sizing. And this, despite me having purged quite a bit each year. I should simply give myself permission to release these items but so far not been able to to do that.

Purging regret: Nothing.

1. This is way too hard. In total fantasy I like YSL and The Row and Max Mara, but don't own any so I might not even like them. But I have every magpie tendency and also brands shift their aesthetic over seasons.

2. I don't really miss anything I've purged that much. Minor pangs maybe but that's it.

What’s something you’re hanging on to, but sort of wish you had the courage to let go of?

3. I have a few dresses I haven't worn yet that are fantasy items but I don't want to get rid of them.

4. NFW I can have that few. But I am really feeling the cropped skinny jeans this spring.

I read Grechen's blog too and though this sounded fun.

Honestly, I can't think of a single brand whose tops and bottoms both fit me well. I could probably survive in nothing but Patagonia if their pants ever fit properly. I'm in gear about half the time it seems.
A Patagonia field coat (see!?) that I consigned ~5 years ago. It was sage green, hemp/cotton twill, fit so well. Thought I didn't like the color at the time, but it would work really well with my current wardrobe.
A couple pairs of pants that need to be mended/altered, but I'm not motivated enough to get my sewing machine out.
A pair of Levis 501s, a pair of Patagonia Baggies, a couple long sleeved striped tops (one cotton and one merino), my black Ibex wool boucle hoodie, my Tom Bihn Cafe Bag, short red booties, Chaco sandals.
A reallly old pair of Red Engine bootcuts, a Uniqlo heat tech tank, an old LLBean flannel shirt, and bare feet.

1. J Crew although for high end I'm loving Jason Wu, Max Mara, DVF, and Tracy Reese.
2. I regret purging my grandmothers aprons.
3. I cannot get myself to purge the first sweater sweater I knit or my first coach purse. They sit in my closet where I never use them or look at them except twice a year when I take them down, think I should toss them but then end up putting them back in their place on my shelf.
4. Huh? Keep only 5-10 items from my closet? I couldn't get through a week of workouts with so few items let alone get dressed for work! I suppose this is about current favorites, but I have more than 10.
5. I'm wearing AG Nikki jeans, a J Crew white long sleeve lace front crew neck tee, a teal merino wool cardigan sweater, my bangle bracelets, my fit bit, my favorite watch, and my blue glasses and a pair of socks. Hmm, if you look at question 4, and count the number of items I'm wearing today, I'm wearing 8. I had shoes and a light jacket earlier bringing the total to 10 and that didn't include my workout gear from this morning. See, I'm doomed. 10 is nowhere near enough!

1. Brand - I could probably outfit myself completely from Sears or Winners - most of my clothes are Sears/Jessica, Ralph Lauren, Ann Taylor, and Jones of New York. However, if money was no object I would go Ralph Lauren from the top of his line. He gets my body, and I like his aesthetic.

2. Regret - during a closet clean-out before I left home for uni, I donated a brown tweed pencil skirt and fitted jacket with mink collar that used to belong to my Aunt Mary. She was a single career woman with an enviable figure and a glamourous wardrobe of 50's and 60's fabness!

3. Needs to go - my favourite racing kit is looking pretty shabby. The white is actually kind of grey, but I don't want to pitch it before I have a replacement.

4. 5-10 things: dark wash and white jeans, grey work trousers, dark tweed blazer, striped-T's, grey sweater, white button down, black jacquard trench coat, black pea coat, cognac brogues.

Oh very interesting. I should think about this more but...
1. Tempted to say Celine although I have never tried any of her clothes on my body. Zara is also tempting because it keeps up with my fickle nature. Lemaire? No, this requires more thought.
2. In collage I used to carry around this embroidered book bag from a flea market. I sort of wish I had that and a thrifted coat just as historical mementos of my early thrifting days (when I had a tiny closet also).
3. Too many things to mention.
4. Well summer version - black and white fisherman sandals, black, white and citron pointy toe shoes, navy nike knee length shorts, pleione cross over navy top, two thrifted dresses, cropped jeans, grey crossover top, and two bags one big and one medium both cross body. Not interested in this plan though.
5. Yoga clothes. It is very early morning and that is my next activity.

1. Can't really think of one. While I love many of my EF pieces, I've tried on many that don't work, so I think it would take a long time to make a whole wardrobe.
2. Can't think of any regrets.
3. Several lulu tops that don't really work for me. Hardly even worn but it seems like such a waste... Almost ready to let them go though.
4. Emerson fry tunic sweater, Danier leather leggings, navy and white Danier leather jackets, helmet Lang tee, black EF drape front dress, Pedro Garcia sandals and my wonderful citron Eccos :). And it's not that I don't like or love many more pieces, I just feel these are cornerstones of my style. And this is something I need to think more about...
5. When I read this post, I was wearing club Monaco cobalt silk track pants, top shop silver shoes, white BR linen tank and a white papillon cardigan. I was in conference so didn't want to post :). Now I'm in Pjs.

1. Tough. I've been on the hunt for such a brand/designer. Once upon a time it was Marc Jacobs. But I haven't found anybody since, not that's an all arounder and for more than one season.

2. I don't miss anything at the moment. My memory likes to attack me by surprise.

3. I should get rid of my grandma's bracelet sleeve coat. But once in a blue moon, it's like nothing else works...

4. My queen mum style purse and black falcon silk scarf. Both from my dad; both forever useful. Then my red 'origami' dress with long sleeves and blue Marc Jacobs peeptoe 'jean' sandals. Those are the top things I'm preserving.

5. I'm bag lady right now. I'm wearing Capri workout wear leggings and a tee - was planting tomatoes. Then it got super sunny and I threw a house dress over it. Then it got cold and I put a long, chunky cardigan over it all. Lol. Next I will add a quilt and go watch tv. Lolol!

1. Not just one but I seem to be on a Kors, Joie and Current Elliott kick

2. I miss my tri-color spectator oxfords in cream, tan and brown. I purchased them in paris when we were first married and wore them with a brown with cream polka dots skirt (which I still have) I let the shoes go because my feet grew during pregnancy.

3. I should give the boot to my pack of hip-length, button up cardigans. They totally hang together and judge me.

4. can't. I might have to default to workout gear.

5. Wearing old yoga pants, old wildly unflattering t-shirt and new teal zip-up. Recuperation clothes, I guess. I was trying to find the softest things in my closet.

1. Eddie Bauer. It's sporty casual, and nice quality. That's closer to my real life than anything else I can think of.

2. Nothing comes to mind.

3. I have a lot of things I should purge.

4. I'd probably keep some of my favorite vintage Coach bags because they don't make them anymore. Most of the rest of my stuff is replaceable.

5. Road trip to Vegas, baby! And some birding along the way. At 8pm it was still over 90F. I'm wearing the sleeveless Eddie Bauer top Angie recommended, along with cargo shorts and an old flannel shirt for AC. And socks. I took off my hiking shoes.

That's a hard one because I buy from various places...but I did used to drool over this shop when I lived near it. http://www.untouchedworld.com/ its all organic and sustainable clothing. I bought a wrap dress from there 7 years ago and its still as good as new..expensive though

I am wearing my walking gear...my new balance pants, merino top (because its cold outside) and a reflective jacket because I went walking in the dark sans shoes because I took my walking shoes off before I came inside. When I read this, I was wearing my clothes at work ...black skinny ponte pants, striped top, jacket, scarf and slip on sneakers..yes I have a new uniform.
