Gah - at the risk of boring everyone to tears, yet another Doc Marten-related question. My new 20-eyelets arrived today - gorgeous! Fit like a dream (well, haven't walked in them enough for the painful break-in, but the size is right)...question is, will the smooth black get marked up too much? Anyone else OCD about scuff marks and scratches? It would ease my mind to know that the regular black (honestly, it looked as "smooth" as the "smooth black" on the Zappos website) will get the same wear marks as the ones I ordered. I chose the dressier smooth black to off-set any "clodhoppery-ness" inherent in my clown-feet size (9.5, well, 9 in Docs). Success there - they don't look clunky on me and make a beautiful leg line.
Any feedback from smooth/regular Doc wearers?
Oh - and do people do any sort of treatment (leather, sole) to their boots before wearing? I wouldn't think of it normally, but folks on here are saying they wear their Docs for years and years, so I want to keep them looking niceish (though I expect normal wear and tear in New England!).
