So glad to see your wrist seems to be getting better, Joy! (hope that's what the cast-free pair of photos means?)

ADORE #1 --- great lines and proportions, as well as FAB set of colours for you. Like VC, I'd not have thought of taupe for your best colours right off the bat --- the last outfit's whites and greys, which is my next favourite, seem more instinctive with your silvery moonlight hair. But WOW! You look gorgeous in both sets of neutrals. What a joy to have that much latitude!

Personally, I'd love to see the scarf worn higher to open up the bodice of the dress in #2, or maybe just knotted lower as Isis said. But I guess we're really quibbling here for something to say! I'd be turning around in admiration if I actually saw you in the street, and staring after you, I bet!

These outfits are fab! Perfect thing to be wearing in the cold. I have a soft spot for the dress, and particularly like what you did in pic 1. Matching legwear with the dress gives it a chic, finished look.
I wouldn't add anything to the dress outfits, but I agree with Thistle that a pop of red in outfit 3 would make it even more interesting.

Ack, I just lost a long reply. Your comments have helped me see what a difference things like scarf length make. Thank you!
Thistle, red would be great and I see a wardrobe hole! I need a pair of red booties with a very low heel. I have been using a dark red suede wintery bag that should have been included in the photos.
Isis, I'm glad to hear the black boots work with the dress. i usually wear grey tights and grey booties.
Claire, Ceit and TraceyLiz, thank you for pointing out the scarf length. I'd not thought about longer lengths with dresses and see what you mean.
Catherine, your comment made my day! Thank you
Suz, that is a taupe sweaterdress that ombres (is that a word?) into brown at the bottom. Do you think it helps camouflage the "arm candy"? The wrist is sore tonight but DH says "no pain, no gain".
Velvetychocolate, I will think about your thoughts on color. I think soft neutrals do look good on me, some better than others. A pale grey is probably the best as it picks up tones in the hair and gives my skin tones a lift; but taupe, whites and even beige almost as good.
Shannon, that last outfit felt very cozy and comfortable on a cold day. I'm glad you think it works. The boots are grey suede La Canadienne that I've had a few years and perfect for a snowy day.

Well I think these all look great Joy - you seem to really be in your style groove these days. Adore you in purple. I think my favourite though is the last outfit. Very "modern cozy"!

I really like #1 - I think the taupe-y colour looks amazing on you. Wow! I am kind of surprised by this (neutral-ish, earthy-ish colours), but then at the same time - I am not surprised, because your latest winter white/cream ensembles also look fabulous on you.

Seems to me that the slightly 'warmer' or 'softer' neutrals/earth tones look *beautiful* (stunning, actually) on you. While it seems a given that blues and whites will look good on you (due to your fair hair and skin), given these examples - the softer, grey-ish, taupe-ish colour schemes are even better.

What do you think? Are the winter whites, pale greys, softer taupes not fabulous on you? I think they are!

Wow, you look gorgeous! Is that a TAUPE sweater dress??? It looks fantastic! (And how convenient that it almost matches your unwanted "arm candy." Hope the wrist is doing better!)

I also love the colour of #2 on you.

#3 is also great!

I really love these. Number one is probably my favorite for the longer scarf and the cut of the dress. Number 3 is great too. Love me some stripes with leopard!

I like all 3! I really love the boots in #2. Adds interesting edge to the dress.

It's hard to come up with suggestions----here's one: I prefer the lower knot of the scarf in #1 than the higher knot in #2---better proportions to my eye.

I rally like all of them, especially 3. Perhaps a red purse or shoes with 3 would amp it up a bit.

I like the boots in 1, but I can't see the bottom of the outfit well. Like the long line the scarf helps make.

My New Year's resolution is to post WIWs more often to make improvements on my looks, purge what isn't working and gain confidence and to learn how to post photos from the computer.
Here are some recents featuring my two sweater dresses and a casual look. What works and what doesn't? I need your thoughts and ideas.
