I’m here, Michelle!

I echo Jean and Inge 100%. Thanks ladies.

You don’t need to rule out black at all, especially if you wear it with something else. But as far as solid neutrals go, I tend to prefer you in dark charcoals, ink blues, cream, white, deep eggplants and rich chocolates. In fact – much like our lovely Inge!

Great question Michelle. All shades of grey came to my first. Ink and navy blue will look good on you as well I think. Your new brown leather jacket looks stunning on you too, so brown is definitely a possibility as well.
I wouldn't rule out black either, I think you can wear it paired with another colour.

Oh, I think a very dark purple would look amazing on you too. I LOVE that as a neutral for myself. Pity it's difficult to find fab pieces in that colour-(

From what I have seen of your pictures, I would say that you can wear both black and brown as neutrals. The brown leather jacket looks great on you. It seems as if you are a winter, not a warm skinned person. I think grey is also a good neutral for you, from light grey to dark charcoal. I would say a bright white is also a good choice. As Angie reminds us, you do not really know for sure until you try a color next to your face.
Keep posting and we will help you out!

At Angie's request, I'm starting a new thread to try and determine what my best neutrals are. Here's the original comment I made in Sarah's interesting thread on which skin tones work with black:

I certainly would be interested to know Angie's take on whether I look good in black or not. I've received many contradictory descriptions of my complexion
over the years (everything from pale to olive), so I simply don't know whether I fit into Angie's guidelines. What would you say my best neutral
is, Angie? Any I should avoid?

By Angie, I mean her + all of you, of course
