I noticed the same issues as you. I felt that they ran short -- my toes didn't have quite enough room. I also have a sensitive achilles tendon/heel and hate when shoes rub that area of my foot and the moment I tried these on I knew that they were cut too high for me and I knew they would rub and give me blisters on my heel. However, I found the scrunched style to push on my toes a bit. I probably could have tried a size larger and I suspect they will also stretch out and relax but I wanted to give a heads up on this issue. Pressure on top of my big toe is one area where my feet tend to be fussy.<br /> Color: I tried the red. I was expecting more of a blue-red, not super bright. The shoes are not bright at all but they did have a slight rusty or orangey tone to them. Still red and a great color, just a little different from what I was seeing on the website. I was afraid this would not work for me either, but the toe box is molding to my foot and the heel stays put.<br /> Color: The purple looks like it will function as a neutral yet it's still *purple.* </p>
