Thank you Angie.

I love that you are very assertive on these issues, must buy leggings. The blue dress is beautiful and thats a length I would be very comfortable wearing.

Does anyone know if there's a cure for the YLF bug?

First of all R&J, you need leggings! They should stop just above your body art.

Secondly, I wouldn’t go shorter than the length of my frock in this picture with those shoes:

http://youlookfab.com/2009/05/.....nic-dress/

But if you’re wearing hose and boots, you could go a little shorter. Even I do that at almost 40 and I don’t like to show much leg.

Thanks Danja

I love the image of you taking photographs of Italian Vogue. I don't own any leggings but may try the look with grey opaque tights, it may be a more sensible idea than bare legs for the changeable British weather. I also like the idea of trying to thrift a pink scarf.

I love those shoes. Very sexy! Recently I came across an outfit that I saw in Italian Vogue, and I absolutely loved it that I took a picture of it as an inspiration.
The girl had animal print pumps, grey mid-calf leggings (the opaque kind, not cotton), lighter denim mini-skirt, a white top (similar to the one you like), a pink thin scarf just kind of hanging around her neck and a boyfriend jacket. It may not seem that great when I describe it, but on the picture it looked great. Just an idea.

Thanks Melody

I appreciate that faded denim is one of those Marmite looks. I'm liking it at the moment but a few seasons ago I could not stand the sight of it. I think I like the casual vibe of faded denim but I have never and probably never will stop liking dark indigo washes for their smartness and versatility.

I'm not a huge fan of faded denim anyway, so it's not a look I would do. However, I really love those shoes ... they are fabulous.

Beautiful feather. I really like to watch the tattoo shows on cable ... those tattoo artists have such great talent and the people they're tattooing always have great and interesting stories behind their tattoos.

Thanks Rute

I love to wear the shoes with a black dress and I'm now in search of a very simple black dress that I can really go to town with the accessories. Angie, you mentioned a short black dress, what's your definition of short for a 31 year old?

I'm thinking of wearing the denim look for lunch with the girls or possibly for the night away with my husband in a few weeks and love the idea of getting home, replacing the shoes with oxfords and being ready to run around with the kids.

I'll be complety honest..

Love everything.. your body art, the shoes (wow) and the skirt, but I agree with Angie, it will look best if you pair the shoes with a more classical piece (like a pencil skirt, a LBD), the contrast of classical and edgy is amazing!

Fathenry, I can completely understand your husband's quest, my tattoos are a record of my life, important events such as birth, deaths and my beliefs are there on the outside for the world to see.

I spend three days at work (finance), where all self expression is dismissed and uniformity is key, I do not want to live by the same rigid boundaries outside of the office.

R&J, Wear your tats with pride! Self expression is wonderful and what we are all aspiring to on this fashion blog! I think its great that you posted photos of them. Not everyone considers their tats long and hard before they get them, but often times they are an important symbol of a gal's (or guy's) personal history and values. I personally don't have any, but I have observed this with my husband's search for the perfect snowflake over the years.

Sincerely, Fathenry

Thanks for your help.

Angie I would tuck the knit into the skirt (Edit: may reconsider after reading the blog) and a little black dress is without doubt one of my favourite looks.

Cciele, I think the length of the skirt is okay, it sits about two inches above the knee, I know the look you're referring to and that would be my idea of a living nightmare.

Some people may believe my tats would cheapen any outfit and they are entitled to their opinion but I love them and will continue to wear them with pride.

I plan to order the knit at the weekend (pay day is looming) and post pics asap (edit: tucked and untucked).

Love your tats, and love the light denim+leopard shoes. However, if the skirt is short on you, the combo of short skirt + heels + animal print might give an impression you might not want to give. Can we see it in an outfit?

It's perhaps overly broad to say you can't go wrong with a leopard flat. I have a pair and they function almost as a neutral. I wear them a LOT, with everything from denim to white...yellow...grey...red...green...orange...purple. Love it!

Wooohoo! More pics from R&J! You’ve caught the YLF bug :0)

Your favourite shoes in the whole world are fabulous. No wonder you adore them. Totally think they will work with lighter denim.

Pretty ruffle knit! Will you tuck the top into the skirt?

Quite right, sweetpea. Your body art *is* your number one accessory. Nothing saccharine about your style! Sooooooo, I love the look of body art with a strict, classic ensemble. For example, I’d pop you in a short, slim black sheath dress with pearls to contrast against your edgy body art. But I’d throw in your favourite shoes above too. Does that make sense?

These are my favourite shoes in the whole wide world! I love everything about them especially as they are comfortable even after hours on your feet.
http://s575.photobucket.com/al.....8;newest=1

I usually wear the shoes with dark denim, black or my favourite navy sack dress with black chiffon sleeves. However I have never worn them with pale denim before. Do you think they would work with this skirt?
http://s575.photobucket.com/al.....8;newest=1

Here is a close up of the shoes against the denim
http://s575.photobucket.com/al.....8;newest=1

I'm considering wearing them with this knit which is on my wish list
http://www.asos.com/French-Con.....;clr=Cream

My style may be a little saccharine for your taste but I believe my body art brings a little edge to what I wear
http://s575.photobucket.com/al.....8;newest=1

So am I crazy or could this work?

As always your honest opinions are appreciated and my sincere apologies for the long post.
