Shanna, I think this look is great on you- and I've been thinking lately that if I don't figure out how to wear leggings soon, the trend will be over. Thanks for posting because every time I see a successful leggings outfit, it reminds me to keep trying.

Thanks everyone! It was indeed an extremely comfy outfit but I have to admit - it was so comfy that I almost felt undressed if that makes any sense. I guess I am so used to something constricting or binding me in some way. I liked it but I don't know if it's a look I will sport too often.

Yes! The scarf really makes the outfit. The jean jacket will be a nice addition, too.

As probably the newest of newbies here, I had to laugh at your statement about the trend being half over by the time you commit to it...that's me! There was a time I thought the fax machine and internet were just passing fancies...um, yeah, I'm pretty conservative on trends I guess.

Anyway, I love the look...actually did something similiar (when I jumped off the legging ledge) but with a white shirt...I like yours better as white tends to highlight my best figure flaw (my belly area).

Looking forward to getting to know all of you in this site. Finally, people who share my fashion passion!

The scarf makes it perfection! And the best part is that you can change the look with different scarves because it is so neutral.

Looks great! Love the scarf with the dress (I am also black/grey/white type of person), and a denim jacket would be perfect.

O.K. I know most of you have been wearing leggings forever but this is a look that I have not been able to work on myself though I have tried. Surely if I have gotten this right, it’s an indicator that leggings are on their way out :) I think part of the issue for me was length. I kept trying clamdigger length leggings but could never find tunics that were right – most were too long and some too short. Plus, I could never get the shape right – I needed flowy over my belly which usually translates to maternity looks on me.

So I picked up a pair of ankle length leggings the other day and paired it with this shorter length dress This is a more familiar look for me since I wore ankle length leggings in the 90’s already (worn with grunge-era oversized plaid or chambray shirts). I realized it needed something more so I added a scarf . Another thought was to throw on my denim jacket since the weather is a bit cooler this morning (around 60).

Does this work???
