San, if you are selling clothing, a few tips from me (as a buyer not a seller):

1) Take really good, quality photos in good lighting, on a white background, and post several.

2) I actually like the photos where a mannequin is wearing the item, or even the seller is wearing the item (with face cut off). But also include a pic with the garment laid flat too.

3) Include close-ups and a good description of any damage.

4) Include the brand in the title; I often cruise ebay to duplicate items I already own. (Safest that way - I already know I will love the item).

5) Most importantly: include VERY detailed garment measurements - not just the size on the label!!! I am much more apt to buy something on ebay if I'm told the measurements laid flat from shoulder seam to shoulder seam, from under arm seam to under arm seam, length from back of neckline to bottom hem, etc. For jeans, I want to know front rise AND back rise, inseam, measurement laid flat from seam to seam at waistband and at crotch point, and on the thigh as well. This way, I can measure a similar garment I already own and compare. This is so much more meaningful than a size label - and I wish that retail manufacturers would take note (although I see Nordie's is getting better with this).

6) I hate to say it but good spelling and grammar make a difference, as does vivid, fun descriptions. Beyond my best judgment, I am swayed by chatty descriptions that paint an image in my head of me wearing the garment: "this is the perfect dress for romantic date nights - you will feel so alluring in it and your husband will not be able to keep his hands off you." LOL. You get the picture. The longer, more detailed and compelling the description, the better. Be a sales person!

Just make sure the site name seems reputable--something like yahoo answers or something like that. And if you go to a website and it asks you to download something, don't do it. :D

Well thankyou so much elpgal. I will look for that book.
And thankyou Ana for the googling idea. I often do not think about googling for things. I only started computering about 10 years ago so that means I had 45 years of no computers!
Thanks!

Hmm...I don't have any specific recommendations. Have you tried googling it to look for free articles? I'm sure there are some out there.

crwilson asked a question in her thread, how to bid for clothing items on Ebay. I would like to learn how to buy and sell on Ebay and wonder if anyone can recommend tutorials or a book on learning how to use Ebay?
I didn't want to highjack crwilsons thread with my aditional question.
Thanks.
