E on academichic wore jersey skirts similar to those all throughout her pregnancy, and she looked great, stylish, and comfortable. Go for it!

I have the nonmaternity version of this skirt and I wear it casually all the time in hot weather.

This type of skirt is popular with college-aged girls (with tank tops and flip-flops, as Laura described), so to distinguish myself from them I usually wear it with closed-toed flats and dress it up with some nice accessories.

Yes, if you wear the skirt as you're describing, I think it would be lovely for casual wear. If you said you were wearing it with a tank top and flip flops, well, that would be another question

I also think the jersey skirt is appropriate for casual wear. Seems like it can be a very flexible piece as well as being very comfortable!

I had one of those in black during my last pregnancy and I wore it a lot, even to work :)
Normally it's not the type of skirt I would go for, but it felt very different during pregnancy. I don't quite know how to explain it - maybe you can just get away with more with your pregnant shape. The outfit you're describing sounds very cute, and I am sure you can dress it up in other ways.

I think this skirt is completely appropriate for a casual look....I wear plenty of jersey dresses out and about...even to work...it depends on the accessories, the fit, an the quality.

I bought a couple of these:

http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/.....pid=633374

and they are *super* in every way for hot weather lounge wear. (I cannot say how pleased I am with them - comfortable, cool, flattering.)

My question is: Are they appropriate for casual wear?

So far I cannot bring myself to wear them out of the house, although I'm sure there are plenty of people who do. However, the other day I was trying on my Star Ling boots for fun, and happened to be wearing this skirt and my white Isabella Oliver ruched tank. It was a pretty cute look, so I switched out the boots for sandal booties which was also a cute look. Do I get YLF approval? I feel like their main drawback is lack of outfit texture-- jersey skirt + knit jersey like top. Another factor as to the success of jersey skirts is probably the quality of the knit, correct?
