I was so disappointed after not being able to get boots while I was in Europe and I was so mad at myself for just not buying one of the pairs that I tried on at the beginning of my trip. I'm so glad that there was a happy ending to my quest!</p> <p>For anyone looking to get these - I wonder if these were made for outlet because the Esmerelda's I saw on Zappos definitely say 15" for shaft height but I measured these myself and they are indeed 13". Mine are a size 36 - I have been taking European 37 for the last few years (was 36 pre-pregnancy) but I noticed in Germany too that the 36's seemed to fit better. I wonder if it has to do with the size? Or perhaps a different year's model? The taller ones that I tried hit too far above the top of my calf on my short legs, so they needed more cinching in than the top buckle could provide. Because I am petite with thinner calves (under 13”), I have had a lot of difficulty finding boots that fit. I have come to realize that the shaft height was as big (or maybe bigger) of an issue as the actual shaft circumference for me. So far they seem pretty comfy and I detect a little looseness around the ankle but it does not seem too bad. The straps are adjustable and while I wish there were only 1 rather than three, beggars cannot be choosers! I am officially ready for fall! </p>
