That being said, I generally dress business casual. Years ago, i worked in a place where I got some side-eye for a pair of simple, striped cropped pants, but one woman wore skirts that did not pass the fingertip rule! Just because it's a skirt does not mean it's professional! </p> <p>Like Dianthus said, dress codes vary so widely, it's hard to say what is appropriate from one place to another. I wouldn't do it, but I don't think it's a bad or inappropriate choice *provided* that you pair them with an appropriate top, shoes and accessories. I don't see the difference between wearing cropped pants and wearing jeans.
