What about this Yukon Classic Down Parka from Eddie Bauer? I have one from years ago that is just so warm. http://www.eddiebauer.com/EB/W.....%220%22%7D

I don't know Laura. I really like it, but I know what you mean about how puffers are best tried on first. 35.5 would probably hit me at the knee, a little lower than on the model. If I could return it for a full refund or get it hemmed, I would probably go for it, but I think I'm going to have to pass I just can't risk losing $139.

Thank you Angie, I just re-read your post and appreciate the advice on the coat Tanya posted. I am thinking that a puffer is an item that ideally is tried on before purchasing, especially when you are vertically challenged and trying to get a puffer that hits at the knee, not the ankle! Kristen & I will certainly report back after our shopping trip on Friday eve, and I will make sure to bring my camera. I feel a research project coming on!

Laura, I have the second puffer that Tanya linked to on a client (2 seasons later and it still looks stunning!). Fabulous quality. She is pushing 6 ft though and it’s knee-length on her. You will drown in the length.

Maya, what do you think about the cream-colored one? Are you going to take the plunge?

Maya, I love the first one for you. Wow. That *would* be super easy if it worked!

I think they only give a store credit. I did get my Mackage coat from them and was very pleased.

If it helps, I have tried this same puffer on last year ( when i was 12 lb heavier) in XS and it did fit me pretty well, on the snug side.

Tanya, that coat is gorgeous. The collar is so cute. Does ideeli need an invite?

Good luck with the hunt Maya!

Here's the one I posted for Laura on her thread, that is currently on sale on the ideeli sample sale site for $130 (from $300):

http://3.images-production.ide.....90x263.jpg

In general, I find that a lot of these sample sale sites started getting puffers now so that might be the best way to go. Let me know if you need an invitation for any of them, i pretty much the member of all of them

Oh Maya, the hunt is on for you too? Sounds like we have similar demands (except you are more flexible on color). Maybe together we can find something fabulous!

OK, here are my requirements:

-Must be long enough to be warm but short enough not to overwhelm me
-Has to have built in shape, preferably vertical seaming. Belts are okay but I would prefer buckled sorts rather than anything that ties.
-Some other color than black or brown.
-No real fur. A faux fur trim is fine.
-As cheap as possible (hoping for under $150)
-Hood would be nice but not necessary if I have a hat.

Is this a reasonable list of demands?
