Thanks for the replies everyone! Angie, as for a longer layering top... I'll see what I've got and play around with it.

Thanks for the compliments! I'll try the skinny belt idea, Angie. I have one in my closet.

I do feel it is a little short, and although not ideal, still workable. CCiele and Chris, I had the same thought of using a different length and structure of top altogether with it.

I'm heading to a midnight showing of UP with some of the students I work with. A cardigan over a light top with jeans and flats (and a handbag that has short enough handles that it won't touch the sticky ground when I hang it on the armrest!) is my uniform for movie theatres. I thought I'd try working with this cardigan over a graphic tee - it's casual, but what do you think? Hit or miss?

Forgive the smug face and poor lighting. Ah, my camera's timer is unpredictable, and light was fading fast!!

I just saw that cardi on BR site today. Like it! Length is close - wonder if the tall would be too overwhelming? Color is wonderful on you!

I think I would like the sweater over a less structured blouse - have you tried it over anything else? I like it with the shorts though and you could rock a pencil skirt with it.

Pretty shades of blue! I also like the outfit better with the wide belt; there was too much going on with the blouse and the tie. I'd play with the proportions of top length and cardi length -- the cascading cardigan looks cute on you and has potential!

You are so statuesque, LE! Good to see you post pics again. And the hair is getting really long. Pretty. I like it tied back too.

Love the blue neck-tie blouse! Try a skinny little black belt perhaps? It looks fab unbelted so no belt worries for you.

LOVE the concept of the cascading cardi. Do think it would be best longer though. However, it’s not jarring. What do you think?

Okay, here's a photo without the belt: http://www.flickr.com/photos/t.....576326194/

I'm still figuring out when to use a belt - I put it on because I was wearing all solid colors and wanted to visually break things up - I guess that's not the best option! :)

I would *love* to try a vest, but I am on a shopping ban until I get another job! It is on my list of things to purchase, though.

I love the cascading cardi - great color on you. Maybe it could be a little longer? I tend to agree with Shiny on the belt, and trying the blouse with a vest. That would be really cute. There's a lot of shine going on with the blouse and the belt.

No, there is not too much volume here with the hair, etc. In fact I think the loose hair looks fab with the cardi. It all flows together well!

I have that same blouse, but in purple! I love that shade of blue on you!

Hmm... I'm thinking lose the belt. I don't think you need it with this look and I fear since it's dark it is chopping you up into pieces. I don't think this blouse needs a belt anyway; it is gracefully cut to create a waist already. (Also looks great tucked into a pencil skirt, but I digress!)

I think the loose hair looks just fine.

As for the length of the cardi, I have no clue ... will let someone else rule on that. But I like the idea of this: voluminous on top and skinny on bottom with the clams. Can you take another pic without the belt?

P.s. have you tried wearing a vest over this blouse yet? It's really cute with a vest and the sleeves puffing out.

Hello everyone! I have a few questions about the cardigans Angie posted about today. My MIL bought this cascading cardigan at BR for me a few weeks ago when she was visiting. I like playing with it since it has some volume; most of my clothing is fairly fitted.

Just my blouse/belt: http://www.flickr.com/photos/t.....575075824/
With the cardigan: http://www.flickr.com/photos/t.....otostream/

Here are my questions:

Is the volume of the cardigan, the tie in the blouse, and loose hair too much? I had my hair up most of the day because I thought it was all too "drapey," what do you think?

Do you think the length is okay? Since the sleeves aren't full length, I thought I could get away with getting this in a regular size (as opposed to my usual tall sizes).

Thanks so much for any input you have!
