When I was young, my mother had the wisdom to take me to a place that did prosthetics for women who had had mastectomies for my bra needs. At the time I felt like such a weirdo. In any case, it taught me a lot about bra fitting. So the other day, I went to Macy's for some new bras. The woman who was supposed to be the expert was HOPELESS. She kept trying to get me into bras that were too small. We're talking the bras that give you a double boob because the cup is too small. Thankfully, I had enough knowledge to know that wasn't right. But it's a word to the wise.</p> <p>Also, I have had some success with Bali bras. But again, it's so personal that you should just try everything. </p> <p>Oh, and one more word of advice from my mom. She always said to make sure, once you've found something that fits, to also assess how it looks with your shirt on. Although I'm not a DD cup myself, I like Wacoal bras, and their iBra is almost invisible under knits on me. For a fitting, I went to a lingerie store (the kind of lingerie store that often has bras for women who have undergone mastectomy, not the kind of store like Victoria's Secret or Fredericks). Learning my real size and wearing appropriately sized bras made such a difference for me, possibly because I was wearing sizes so very far off the correct size before I was professionally fitted. Yes to fittings also! I only have two, one nude and one black, both the t shirt bra's...totally smooth to go under knits. I would like to buy online and am looking at figleaves.com because they offer free returns and exchanges. </p> <p>I haven't been professionally fitted in a very long time and even then it was VS and I don't think the girl must have known what she was doing because she came up with a 36B when that CLEARLY did not fit.
