Hey, I just realized that the same site has some extremely similar shoes by a different brand, also available in navy. They're ever so slightly more almond toed than the other pair. God I love yesstyle: http://www.yesstyle.com/en/woo.....1021548627

If you wear a mostly cool palette, like me, you might find that purple is a really versatile pseudo-neutral for you. But it will probably have to be a deep eggplant or sophisticated burgundy, not the brighter color I like to call "crayon purple". If that doesn't work for you, navy is a widely recommended neutral, and super easy to wear, yet you rarely see it on shoes or bags, especially in patents or unusual textures. Right now I'm VERY into patent navy shoes, and I think they look very unusual and modern, even though they're just about as easy to wear as black shoes. I hope to start a patent navy trend! Here's a nice example (scroll down to the navy pair) : http://www.yesstyle.com/en/inf.....1021299091 Just imagine those with some dark gray jeans.

It's all about proportion. If the proportions are right (and the color is relatively subtle) it can work. I had rust-colored ankle boots that I wore into the ground for two seasons. They were great with a gray/black/brown color palette and they were fun to wear, too.

I'll be very honest to you.. I know color boots are fun, but I'm very picky with what is or not flattering and I feel that color boots break the leg line and make me shorter and as I'm petite I avoid that, boots should be of a similar color to the pants or hose..

Colored boots have been on my mind lately too, and I just ordered these in plum:

http://www.zappos.com/naturali.....plum-suede

I really like the shade of purple and they look like they'll be super comfortable. I haven't received them yet, but I have high hopes! I think they would go with a lot in my wardrobe because the color isn't too brash.

Reading Angie's blog today, I am wondering if I should add a pair of boots or booties in a fun color (other than black, gray, brown), to add interest to my current palette, which is fairly monochromatic? I am finding I dress a lot in blacks, grays, whites, adding color interest with a bag and/or blouse.

You can see examples on current "recent outfits" thread here:
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-outfits-4

... and also bear in mind that my winter coat is cobalt.

Whatever I choose has to go with the ponte knit pants, not just jeans, because I am expecting to live in these this season!

Boots vs booties: I have a lot of boots already, but not a lot of booties (just chocolate brown, and charcoal gray metallic oxfords). I fear that if I get boots in a color, it will chop my legs up too much and stumpify me?

My initial thought was to find a pair of black booties to wear as an alternative to the metallic SW's. I wear those constantly all fall and winter. (They are great shoes - I just like to be able to rotate.) Or, alternatively, I've been looking at flat, black-patent brogues. (Tried on a pair recently - DH thought they were adorable - loved the menswear vibe - but feared they made my feet look "too small" ??)

One caveat: I do not like boots that hit on the ankle - like those shown on today's blog. Annoy me to no end. I need them instead to hit low, like the SW's do, at base of the ankle.

Suggestions?
