Thanks for bumping this, San!

Thanks, Angie- that makes perfect sense. That was my first thought, but then I had a momentary lapse of confidence and started to worry that a "V" shaped style might look too matchy or something. I'm heading out in a few hours- looking forward to reporting back!

Rest assured I'll be back on the forum next week! These last few days have been filled with long walks around London, galleries, eating out and (window) shopping. It's a bit more exhausting than my usual schedule, but it's so fun to live like a tourist now and then

Ever thoughtful Sandy. Ele *is* on a different time zone too. Thanks for bumping.

Exciting, Ele! I’ve missed you on the forum.

The most important part about the necklace is that it fits into the “V” of the dress. Think bib necklace, large pendants and Y-chains. A chunky round necklace is not quite as good for a V-neckine. Pearls, tarnished silver or gold are very vintage and you can take your pick. So are garnets and rubies. Am I making any sense?

I'm going to Portobello market tomorrow (I have a friend visiting me this week and she wants to see it), and since I don't go into that part of the city too often, I thought that it would be a good time to scout jewelry for the wedding I'm going to in October.

Quick reminder of my dress:
http://i641.photobucket.com/al.....sfront.jpg
http://i641.photobucket.com/al.....bodice.jpg

You suggested a vintage necklace to go with this, and I completely agree. I know that I want something really statement-y, but am unsure of what styles I should be looking at. Are you seeing something beaded (like pearls?), or more of a pendant or bib style? Any thoughts on colours/materials to look for? Obviously I'm not going to be wearing my dress tomorrow, and returns are impossible, so I just want to go with a good idea of what I'm looking for
