I like them best under pants and jeans. Somehow they look much higher than they really are when the tiny heel is concealed, and they manage to make my duck feet look small and dainty. I don't know how I feel about them for dresses/skirts though. The strap is very thick and far back on the instep, which is good because it keeps my foot from slipping forward and flopping off in the back, but I don't know if I like how it looks so much. I might take a picture and put it to the jury. As much as I love a great pair of black shoes, I think the grey patent is much more interesting than the black and I can imagine you could have a lot of fun with them! Not just with black pants but with jeans too. </p> <p>I can also see these shoes with tights and a skirt or dress. To me, the only parts that might be old ladyish include the chunky heel and perhaps the texture on the belt buckle--it's hard to tell. If you plan on wearing the shoes with pants, I think that helps to negate the clunky heel.
