I own this. It is has a surprising amount of room to write info that one needs in it. I also love the little “pocket” on the back that perfectly fits business cards.
This is my first Moleskine purchase after reading Angie’s use and review of it. I love the small design and I bought mine in a pretty red (good feng shui color!). I have always been a month-at-a-glance person and while I was happy to see this is part of the planner, I want to make the best use out of my new little book, which is weekly.
So, as a new buyer, do you use those cute stickers that came with the book (I’m still trying to figure out some of the icons). I love taking notes and keeping lists, so this will be wonderful to keep in my purse. I’d love to hear how Angie and others use their Moleskin pages: is it kept as a social calendar, a diary of events and highlights, thoughtful reflections…the list really is endless. My one concern is how to combine the use of my large desk planner (monthly) with this purse pocket planner and my occasional iPhone calendar. It’s a lovely little book and I’m sure I’ll find my own way.
I also keep a large, desk planner. It always stays home. This little one is always with me. I write down appointments when I am out and about and I throw business cards in the back pocket ( so I don’t lose them in my bag of wallet ) I keep emergency numbers and a list of meds that my sister takes on one of the notes pages. I also will use it as a diary and/ or a place to jot down on a particular day what I need to do that day. I also make sure sure that on the day space I write down any phone numbers that I might need that day – like the number for a doctor that I might have an appointment with that day, in case I need to call for some reason . I guess it is more of a small notebook.
My desk planner is where I do all my planning – mostly long term, my small one is more for daily use as I am out and about so I don’t forget what I have to do or people that I need to call.
Thank you!! This really helps and I’m glad you came back to this page. I’m looking forward to using the planner and keeping it with me in my new purse. I like to keep lists and jotting down essential phone numbers, for the day, makes perfect sense. I really appreciate hearing how you are using the moleskin planner.
Thanks again and I wish you the very best in 2012!
I’ve been using Moleskine diaries and notebooks for years. The simple yet strong design very much appeals to my personal aesthetic. I love the chamois paper colour, the sturdy covers (I carry mine in my handbags for an entire year and they still look as good as new). I love the original black versions, but also have a soft spot for the bright red and now the other colour options as well.
Vicki: I use my planner for practically everything: keeping track of project deadlines, work and personal to-do lists, appointments, phone numbers I might need, jotting down things on the run that I don’t want to forget or would like to look up later (book titles, e.g.:-), even parts of sentences for articles I’ve started in my head… The inner pocket is quite handy for business cards. Oh and I’m a list maker, so lots of lists in my Moleskines too.
I got the xsmall apple green one after much searching and hemming and hawing trying to decide on size and color. I think this xsmall size and colors are special edition, so I decided to go with something different this year.
I mainly use this cheerful little guy as a calendar on the go. The look and feel are great. I really like how the bright color pops and never gets lost in my bags or on my desks. The smooth hard cover, the feel of paper – all great as usual. Another Moleskine feature I really like – the rubber band that keeps the notebook closed.
Next time I might go for the larger regular size in red.
