As energizing and fun as it can be to wear all sorts of colours in the Summertime, it’s also satisfying to make a statement with neutrals. Here’s an assortment of items across a range of price points in all sorts of neutrals. Many of them were winners on my clients, and are available in different neutral options. - Halogen 'Ripple Dots' Square Silk Scarf: Silky Graphic Polka Dot Fabness. The blue looks less graphic but is just as fab. Fold it small to create a neckerchief.
- Banana Republic High-Waist Drapey Short: Mini culottes for Team Legs. Works on both a curvier and straighter figure. Great drape.
- Banana Republic Marled Twist-Hem Long Sleeve Top: A fab cooler weather tee with a built-in semi tuck. Drapes quite well over slim bottoms. Forgiving on the midsection.
- Banana Republic Short-Sleeve Windowpane Top: A Summer tweed complete with fringe detailing AND sleeves. Works as well over a pencil skirt for a dressier look. The torso is A-line and not tailored, so consider yourself warned. Fits a rectangular and apple shape quite well. Forgiving on the midsection.
- Banana Republic Boyfriend Light Wash Jean: The photo does not do these perfectly lightweight, and super soft boyfriend jeans justice. The colour is FABULOUS and has a silvery grey tinge to it. The cuffs are wider and resemble culottes. They look best with one solitary wide cuff. Fits a range of body types.
- Vince Camuto Ruched Stretch Knit Midi Skirt (Plus Size): One of the best tube skirts of all time. Flattering, forgiving, versatile and comfortable. Great length and fit. I wish they restocked the style across all sizes, and in a few more colours.
- Munro 'Zena' Snake Embossed Sandal (Women): An extremely comfortable sandal that looks a whole lot better on the foot. Chic and elegant. Excellent paired with black ankle pants. Comes in an assortment of widths and sizes so good on all shapes of feet. The black looks best. The silver grey snakeskin gets my next vote. The rest of the colours don't look as fab.
- Lucky Brand Dip Dye Denim Shirtdress: Ombré Unstructured Shirtdress Fabness. Nice length for taller gals.
- Nine West Olencia: The block heel rounded square toe ballerina is fably Modern Retro. It is NOT for fussy feet so consider yourself warned. The silver and gold look best in this style.
- Pippa Floral-Print Leather Satchel, White/Black: A photographic floral satchel to sport throughout the year. Nice quality. Gorgeous with black and white, or blue outfits.
- COS Rib trim pleated top: A statement pleated blouse that suits most body types. Crease-resistant, comfy and bold. Looks as great layered under a blazer or moto jacket. Runs big.
- COS Stripe top with pleated hem: A quiet micro stripe in a bold silhouette is a great juxtaposition. Runs big.
- COS Flared v-neck top: A fab top for a curvy gal. Defines the torso but is forgiving on the midsection. Not good on a large bust.
- Fuzzi Ruffle Trim Floral Print Tulle Skirt: Floral Hard Edge. Great with a black support act.
- Eliza J Floral Print Organza Midi Skirt: Modern Retro Fabness. Best on a regular to long waist with a tucked top or cropped top. Great with a buttoned-through denim jacket worn as a top too.
- White House Black Market Shoulder Cutout Poncho Sweater: Swooshy, breezy and alluring. Great drape, and you can wear a regular bra with the top. Runs big.
- White House Black Market Asymmetric Wrap Pencil Skirt: Sharp, professional and crisp. Fab for business casual.
- White House Black Market Sequin Poncho Sweater: A fun sequin poncho to pair with jeans, patterned pants or black pants. Go Team Daytime Sparkle. Fab with a larger statement necklace. Runs big.
- White House Black Market Woven Overlay Dress: An easy-breezy unstructured sheath dress that works well on straighter figures and apple shaped figures. Fab worn as a tunic over slim bottoms too. Read the rave reviews.
- INC International Concepts Metallic Dolman-Sleeve Top, Only at Macy's: A good top for curvy figures. Streamlined and versatile.
- 7 For All Mankind 'Josefina' Boyfriend Jeans (Black Sands Broken Twill): Relaxed black skinnies in an unusual wash that resembles chinos. Very interesting. Great on a curvy figure.
- Nic + Zoe 'Backstory' Back Cutout Open Knit Top (Regular & Petite): This top looks much better in person. It's all about the fabulous cut-out criss-cross BACK detailing. So make sure you showcase that part of the garment. YES, you can wear a regular bra. Covered yet breezy. And surprisingly forgiving on the midsection. Does not cling.
- Loft Lacy Peplum Top: Breezy, pretty and romantic. A little sheer but fine without a camisole. Very forgiving on the midsection. Great on a larger bust and short waist. Size down.
- Halogen Sleeveless Jersey Crop Jumpsuit (Regular & Petite): A brillant jumpsuit for apple shaped body types. Very forgiving on the midsection. Streamlined and trendy.
