Finally, here are my top picks for footwear and accessories. Designer shoes and dressy shoes were disappointing this year, and so were many of the handbags. But the more affordably priced casual footwear was brilliant. Lots of fun, comfy and sporty bootie styles that can effectively refresh your style. I loved the ankle boots with the higher shafts because they work better with cropped trousers, cropped jeans, and jeans that are rolled at the hems. They also elongate the leg line when the boots are flat. It was also GREAT to see a wide assortment of non-black footwear.
It has been a nine day marathon, but I enjoyed every minute of the NAS because my clients are absolutely wonderful, as are the two sales associates that I work with at Nordstrom. I haven’t covered lingerie, activewear, menswear and children’s wear in my lists, but do check out those areas too. Greg got some fun NAS stuff from Theory and Hugo Boss, and I’m very pleased with my own stash.
Footwear
- Timberland 'Glastonbury Six Inch' Sneaker (Women): These shoes excited me the most at the NAS because they look fresh and modern. Sporty Luxe Fabness. The white sole makes the shoe pretty, refined and less masculine. The wheat is the original shade of the Timberland boot along with the yellow laces. It's comfortable for low volume feet and narrow ankles. Not going to work all that well for wider feet and ankles. Also, you have to take your time to put on these booties. No easy zipper access.
- Timberland 'Glastonbury Six Inch' Sneaker (Women): The black with bruised gold toe is fabulous, and is probably easier to co-ordinate into outfits than the wheat option with yellow laces. The white sole makes the shoe pretty, and less hard-edged. It's comfortable for low volume feet and narrow ankles. Not going to work all that well for wider feet and ankles.
- Sperry 'Saltwater' Waterproof Rain Boot (Women) (Nordstrom Exclusive): An excellent and super cute casual weatherproof bootie that comes in three colours. Brilliant on wider feet and ankles. Very warm and comfy. Easy zipper access.
- Timberland 'Bramhall Six Inch' Boot (Women): A fun haute hiking boot with plaid trim. Comes in two colours - both brown with plaid. Works well on high volume feet and is very comfy. Love the pretty white sole. No easy zipper access. Got to tie and untie those laces, which I think is worth it.
- SOREL '1964 Premium Canvas' Waterproof Wedge Bootie (Women): A fabulous wedged weatherproof hiking boot. Comfy, and read the rave reviews.
- Mephisto 'Yael' Soft-Air Sneaker (Women): An extremely comfortable fashion sneaker for low and high volume feet. Looks best in silver and white.
- Converse Chuck Taylor All Star 'Lux Shroud' Hidden Wedge Bootie (Women): A chunky and quite heavy Converse wedge sneaker that works on high volume feet. Keeping the zippers unzipped is part of the look. Tying the laces under the zipper keeps the shoe on the foot. Also available in black.
- Charles By Charles David 'Drew' Kitten Heel Pump (Women): An unusual shade of cognac animal print. Bookends auburn, red and strawberry blonde hair. None of the other colours in this style are comfortable - only this one.
- Attilio Giusti Leombruni AGL Attilio Giusti Leombruni Classic Leather Bootie (Women) (Nordstrom Exclusive): Dressy, elegant, streamlined, beautifully made and very comfy if you can manage the heel height. The shape of the elastic inserts is slimming and interesting. Works well on both low and high volume feet but is not good on extra wide feet. Excellent on narrower ankles. If I needed a pair of dressy black booties, these would be them. Chic on the foot.
- Munro 'Hope' Boot (Women): Very comfortable and comes in narrow and wide widths across two colours. Goes all the way up to a size 14.
- Blondo 'Vinita' Waterproof Moto Boot (Women) (Nordstrom Exclusive): The best moto boots at the NAS. Very comfortable and puddle proof. Good in light snow too. Might need to size down half a size.
- Sam Edelman 'Paige' Fringed Ankle Bootie (Women): Comfortable low-heeled fringed fabness.
- TOMS 'Desert' Wedge Bootie (Women): A comfortable wedge bootie that's also available in taupe. Polished Casual.
- Eileen Fisher 'Bunch' Sandal (Women) (Nordstrom Exclusive): Works well for high volume feet. Spongy, super trendy and quite comfortable.
- Louise Et Cie 'Barry' Ankle Strap Flat (Women) (Nordstrom Exclusive): Elegant, ladylike and modern with that ankle strap. Works well on low and regular volume feet. Comfortable.
- Michael 'Clara' Bootie (Women) (Nordstrom Exclusive): I didn't find this shootie comfortable, but I'm in the minority. Dressy and elegant. Read the rave reviews.
- Franco Sarto 'Linden' Leather Bootie (Women) (Nordstrom Exclusive): Comfortable and robust. Not overly pointy in the toe. Nice buckle and strap detail. Comes in three colours. Many rave reviews.
- Louise Et Cie 'Franny' Oxford Flat (Women) (Nordstrom Exclusive): A ladylike flat oxford if ever there was one. Spongy and lightweight.
- Franco Sarto 'Granite' Bootie (Women) (Nordstrom Exclusive): A streamlined bootie with double zipper detailing. There is an extra cushioning pad at the back opening of the shoe making it extra comfortable. Best in burgundy. Ample stellar reviews.
- Børn 'Helen' Boot (Women): An extremely comfortable knee-high boot. Narrows at the ankle which is flattering. Love the grey. Too tall for petites.
- Ecco 'Touch 15' Buckle Boot (Women): Mid-calf boots make a nice change, and are easier to fit than tall boots. A great shade of chocolate and quite comfy.
- Kork-Ease Kork-Ease 'Kissel' Boot (Women): VERY comfortable. Square toes usually ensure roomy toe boxes, and this style does not disappoint. The front doesn't cut into your shin either. All the colours are great.
- Eileen Fisher 'Soul' Gathered Leather Bootie (Women) (Online Only): Super comfortable with an interesting gathered ankle detail. They look even better on the foot. Read the 5-star reviews.
- Louise Et Cie 'Barry' Ankle Strap Flat (Women) (Nordstrom Exclusive): Elegant, ladylike and modern with that ankle strap. Works well on low and regular volume feet. Comfortable.
- Steve Madden 'Grroupie' Gore Bootie (Women): '90s Fabness in the black. Chunky and comfy. Not too heavy either.
- Cole Haan 'Highline' Half d'Orsay Pump (Women): A refined d'Orsay heel that's very dressy. Quite comfortable. Size down half a size.
- Halogen 'Olson' Pointy Toe Studded T-Strap Flat (Women): Super comfy Rockstud-esque T-strap flats in an assortment of Spring colours. Cushioning, soft and quite supportive despite the very flat heel. It worked well for my low volume foot. Probably not the best style for higher volume feet.
- Paul Green 'Denver' Belted Biker Boot (Women): Loving the shaft height of these ankle boots. Great with cropped pants. Super comfy and very well made. Might run half a size big. Not good for feet with bunions.
- Vince 'Newlyn' High Top Sneaker (Women): A trendy high-top sneaker to wear with cropped jeans. I found them heavy and not as cushioning as I would have liked, but they might be fine for you.
- Cole Haan 'ZerøGrand' Perforated Oxford (Women) (Nordstrom Exclusive): A genius sneaker and oxford hybrid. Deluxe Polished Sporty. VERY comfortable. My clients did not find them narrow although some of the reviewers think so. Fab sans socks.
- Halogen Halogen 'Lidia' Studded Leather Ankle Bootie (Women): An unusual colour grey, and nice style ankle bootie with studded ankle trim.
- Naturalizer 'Jennings' Knee High Boot (Women) (Wide Calf): Very comfortable, modern classic knee-high boots that are also available in extended calf measurements. I vote burgundy or cognac.
- Munro 'Lexi' Boot (Women): One of the most comfortable ankle booties of all time. I like the multiple black options made of texture-rich leathers.
- Treasure&Bond 'Catalina Mid' Engineer Boot (Women): Super cute and comfy, and in the best shade of distressed brown. Loving the longer shaft. No easy access zipper though. You have to undo the buckles to get them on.
- Børn 'Pirlo' Boot (Women) (Online Only): Comfy and practical. Roomy toe box. I vote cognac all the way.
- Aquatalia By Marvin K. 'Sophie' Weatherproof Boot (Women) (Nordstrom Exclusive): A beautiful looking waterproof moto bootie. They are comfortable on the foot and very sturdy. I found them too heavy, but none of my clients did. Size down a half or whole size.

- Fossil 'Sydney' Satchel: Chevron Fabness. A well made satchel that makes a statement.
- Deux Lux 'Mae' Vegan Leather Fringe Hobo: I like the short handle on this fringed tote because it tucks away neatly under the arm thereby keeping the shape of the bag structured. Polished Hippy Chic.
- T-Shirt & Jeans 'Pebble' Vegan Leather Tote (Online Only): A handy and affordable silver grey vegan tote that can double as a second bag when you're out and about with lots to carry.
- Street Level Vegan Leather Bucket Bag (Online Only): A trendy vegan bucket bag in a great shade of cognac.
- Rebecca Minkoff 'Chevron Quilted Love' Crossbody Bag: A ladylike chain crossbody bag for Team Dressy. Trendy.
- Rebecca Minkoff 'Line Quilted Julian' Backpack: A fabulous upscale backpack that works on petite, regular and tall ladies. It has a handy back zipper for easy access. Looks gorgeous in the plum too. Less fab in the black.
- Leith Floppy Felt Hat: A super cute floppy felt hat for those with long locks. All the colours are good.
- Satya Jewelry Reversible Constellation Pendant Necklace: A fun pendant to match your star sign. Dainty jewellery looks fresh.
