I like this look a lot. It inspired me to try on the sexy BF jeans at the Gap yesterday, but the “whiskering” looked too contrived and overdone to me. I’ll keep looking!

Ok Angie, you’ve piqued my interest. I didn’t think BF jeans would work for me but I’ve ordered a pair to try out in two sizes. If I can make them fit, this formula would be a great look for summer.

I looooove this formula and have been trying (and unfortunately failing) to find a good pair of semi-distressed slim boyfriend jeans for a couple years now; they just don’t seem to work well with my hips, and often aren’t slim enough in the right places! I gave up on the search last summer, but after seeing Suz and Denise and others rocking their looks, I’m reinspired to take up the search once again! Lower rise is a key element to my eye, and also a soft enough fabrication so they look like you’ve had them forever.

This seems like a spring/summer type of look to me. Does this translate into fall, or do we have to change up some of the elements? Like swap the sandals for boots, maybe add a sweater…?

I just bought some Kut from the Kloth jeans at Goodwill yesterday that are kind of boyfriend-ish. And I’m going to the coolish Oregon coast this weekend, so your post is timely on two counts!

I tried this idea today with the new jeans rolled (I’ll check your link for your tips on that), and a light blush colored linen shirt with the long sleeves rolled up. I belted with a woven leather belt and semi-tucked. I loved it!!!! You are so right that the blousy top semi-tucked makes a thick middle disappear. My hips looked smallish!

I’m excited to have a new outfit for my vacation.

OMG! A few days ago I was wearing almost exactly this formula! So far I have been wearing structured button downs and knit tops with my bf jeans, but last week I picked up a great soft blouse from H&M and you are right Angie, this type of top adds femininity to this tomboy-ish look. I love this look. It’s pretty much the way I dress in the summer when I’m not wearing shorts and a tank top down at the beach. I might try the half-tuck. I’ll let you know how it goes….unless, of course, you can hear my scream of disgust all the way from Seattle!
