Another great Link Love! I loved reading the NY Times article that AJ posted. One of the bloggers mentioned in the article used to play at my house when she was in elementary school. How nice to see her all grown up! I’m looking forward to catching up on the rest of the links over the weekend.

It is very interesting to see Kate Middleton’s style evolution. I do like her outfits, sometimes they seem a bit too modest for my taste though. And I do wonder how much “say” she has in what she wears now that she’s a princess.

I’ve already read Marilyn’s article twice. I’m amazed that she had so few posessions and they were all well used. More people, including myself, should adopt this philosophy.

Thanks, Mochi, for the Kate Middleton/Duchess of Cambridge link. I adore her style (other than her blouses), and have wondered too how much help she has in choosing her outfits.

Supposedly she is single-handedly bringing back sheer hose; as a freezing New Englander, I’ll be interested to see if this is true.

Of course Marilyn was skinny — a size 12 in the 1950s was considerably smaller than today’s size 12. I love this line about Marilyn:
“This stunning lack of materialism made me love and respect her more. What do you need in life other than a good book, a few capri pants, and a cotton sundress or two?”
Great inspiration for going minimalist.

Good ideas from Omiru’s 16-Piece Capsule Wardrobe. I could totally see Maryk with the leopard denim jacket.

Nice to see the pics of Kate’s style over the years and kid pics too.

MaryK, that article about Marilyn Monroe was fascinating. After reading about how tiny she actually was, I did a Google image search and took a second look. Her waist IS tiny, which I think makes her bust and hips appear full in comparison. I can see now that she really was very petite. It’s so funny how we think of her as being voluptous!

On a related note, my father-in-law met Renee Zellweger on a plane last year. He said she is unimaginably tiny — child-size, really. It surprised him.
