This is great, Angie! Thank you so much!
I am sually good with buying the right pair of jeans, dresses or tops that suit my body. Where I have a problem is with skirts and pants because not only am I pear shaped, I have thigh saddlebags. This makes some of the pants and skirts drawn a horizontal tight line right across my thighs.

I also have a problem with shorts - just in terms of finding the right fit and length. Any suggestions?

I find it funny that I'm 3 inches off from hourglass. But this really helped. I love boot cut jeans but I like skinny jeans sometimes and before reading this - I'd layer my skinny jeans with an empire waisted dress or long tunic.

I love the tunic over straight jeans look, but always had problems because I would have to buy jeans to accommodate my wide hips and then they were always too big around my middle. If I wore a belt to keep them up my middle looked chunky. If I went without a belt my jeans were always slipping down. I solved this problem by buying a couple of pairs of straight leg jeans with elasticated waist and no pockets. No one can see the elastic waist, they are supremely comfortable, and the silhouette is now streamlined.

I hasten to add I would never wear these jeans unless they were UNDER something :-)
