[...] Jeans + tunic sweater + leather / pleather jacket + ankle boots: Banded tunic knitwear gets my vote because the style is easy and forgiving around the midriff area. Add a cropped jacket for structure and throw in ankle-length cowboy boots for fun. Cowboy boots do not need to look overtly western. Fryes assortment has been stellar this season and the colours are delicious. [Update: detailed post on this formula] [...]

Look 3 is super chic. I love the color of the scarf paired with the moss green sweater. Of course, the boots are awesome, too.

Love these looks! I have trouble finding long tunics that aren't banded at the bottom. The first one by Kensie would be perfect if it had long sleeves and wasn't banded. The hunt continues...

This is a cute look, but I'm reluctant to wear longer sweaters. Can they really flatter hourglass-shaped women? My bust and hips are very, very full, and my defined waist is the only narrow/slender part of my body. I'm afraid of looking extremely heavy in a long sweater, though I notice that they are everywhere now.

Interesting how differently we can perceive things. Elizabeth, I totally understand and appreciate that you'd like to see more reasonably-priced items. But I love seeing items that are out of my price range; I feel that seeing "high end" items trains my eye to better notice quality details and construction. Just because I can't afford them, doesn't mean that I can't learn from them. : )

Very interesting SS that you came up with that great outfit for under $20. I love that.
I am so excited that I am finally getting it with these formulas. Thanks for hammering it home Angie.

OK, it's not quite the Bohemian and Earthy, but it really works for me. Especially since I thrifted every piece:

I was so proud of this outfit - especially since it cost less than $20 and looked FABULOUS!!! All bought at Goodwill - hey, don't knock it!!

Suede Jacket - Petite Sophisticate - $4.59
Ribbed Turtleneck - i.e. - $3.89
Levis 505 jeans - $4.39
Franco Sarto short suede boots - $5.69
Total Outfit cost: - $18.56
LOVE IT!! However, after reading YLF, I could have spiced it up with a scarf.....I have so much to learn about accessorizing!
