I don’t have much cobalt blue in my wardrobe. Looks like a fun way to combine colors. I love those blue suede boots!!!

Hi, Angie! I have just bought a pair of bright black straight cut jeans(neved had before so brights, only distressed, greyish ones) and a frech blue turtle neck strech tee. It seems will work together. BUT for me it needs the “third piece” to be finished(you said white or cream, but what should it be?) I also have a streamlined textured, short cut, wool, autumn jacket, but it seems to be too harsh together for me(I’m blonde). And I dont’t like black shoes at all…is there any other colour of shoes to be worn this outfit with? thanx a lot.

I love this color combination! Actually, I’ve been VERY drawn to cobalt blue since summer and have frequently paired it with black or white, even to an interview. I don’t know that I have tried it with black AND white/cream, though. I’ll have to give that a whirl next time. Thanks for the added inspiration!

I LOVE that Kenneth Cole New York sweater. I guess it’s a good thing it’s only in plus size or else I might have to snap it up for myself.

It must be something in the air, because I’ve been wearing blue and black also … I wore it first time round in the 80s, but it’s appealing to me all over again! Like many of the commenters, I LOVE those boots.

I swear I didn’t read your blog entry before getting dressed this morning, but I happen to wear a mostly black outfit with midtone blue accents today! Specifically, I’m wearing a black shift dress over a white button down, paired with fabulous blue tartan tights (from Paris!! they make me so happy!) and black boots, plus blue and red earrings. It’s a real nice combo and I decided to keep it going tomorrow, planning to wear a blue sleeveless cowl neck knit sweater (new from H&M) over a white button down and black pants with a thin white stripe. It’s “interview week”, so I’m wearing a lot of my more classic black pieces, and those blues bring in just the right dose of bright color and pep.

Hi Angie,

French blue and black is one of my favorite combinations.

It has been a part of my wardrobe for most of my life.
In High School, I use to borrow one of my father’s french blue shirts (along with cuff links) throw on my favorite jeans and finish it off with one of his ties at my waist. Thankfully he never missed any of these.
Hey, it was the 70’s. I missed the disco phase completely.
