Nordstrom Valley Fair in San Jose, CA is also allowing all customers to shop the pre-sale early and take merchandise home. I bought a pair of gold Tory Burch Romy flats yesterday (in my hard to find size 12!)

Nordstrom at South Coast Plaza (Costa Mesa, CA) also is allowing any customer to go behind the “gold curtain” to purchase at presale and take merchandise home. I bought the Me Too flats in the catalog. They are so AWESOME! Super soft leather and the rubber actually has a little wedge. Comes in patent purple, patent red, bronze, silver and black.

Robyn I’m in Australia as well. I have bought stuff from Nordstrom online and got shipped through a US 3rd party….I use http://shopaholiques.com/default.aspx….Fiona who runs it is great. The Nordstrom site accepts Aussie credit cards no worries. I don’t know what time Australian the sale starts but hopefully I’ll be near a computer sometime then!!!

Not sure if this will help anyone, but the Nordstrom store in San Franciso Westfield Center was allowing *all customers* to shop the presale today and take the merchandise home! You have to ask the salespeople to take you, as all of the clothes were in a dressing room in the very back. I was able to score several pieces I had my eye on from the catalog. Happy shopping!

Oh anyone and everyone with influence – what can we do to persuade Nordie’s to sell overseas?! I just love their stuff but live in Australia. I still treasure a belt and brooch I bought in Seattle in 2001 when I was working there. Sigh … But really looking forward to seeing people’s trophies!

I’m glad you talked about your preselection experience. I was so “meh” on the catalogue this year I skipped the preselection altogether.

I think part of the problem is that I’ve grown accustomed to recession-era pricing and the prices at NAS (at least from the catalogue) don’t seem all that special.

I finally had a chance to rush through the pre-sale this past weekend while driving through a town that actually had a Nordstroms(unlike mine currently).I unfortunately was saddled with a sales person who didn’t want to focus on what I really wanted to see–leather jackets–so that wasn’t great. I am hoping to score a great jacket during the sale though. I’ll be shopping online
I was never much of a nordstroms girl myself and being in the store this weekend reminded me of that. It has always been WAY out of my price range but I did get lucky a few times during sales over the years .Let’s hope lightening strikes again!

Except for basics like bras and tights, I’ve never had much luck with Nordstrom, sale or no, but I wanted to point out to enthusiasts a side benefit of NAS: For the first five days of the sale Nordstrom cardholders get double reward points for every purchase online or in the retail store (you must use your Nordstrom card; Rack purchases are not included). At 2,000 points you get a $20 store credit that’s good for six months. Those points add up quickly with the bonus.
