Unfortunately, I run into the same problem with most huaraches that I do with gladiators–the thin straps hurt my feet. Although I have found comfortable huarache-style sandals in the past, so it’s possible I could wear this style again if I find the right pair. I love the blue ones! Those could probably work for me because the straps are thicker. They would look great with jeans.

Starry and BB, those are blog post worth thoughts. There is a fine line between trying something new and establishing whether it’s “you”. How do you know? Also, you can love something on others but it’s just not your look, or doesn’t work with your body type. We’ll explore this further.

starry makes a good point, i often struggle with passing up those trends that truly aren’t “me”, ie. i might go ga-ga for something on the rack, but then it’ll end up sitting in my closet because it doesn’t work with my personal style. i was loving the huarache trend until i actually tried them on and it just felt way too “boho” …maybe the heels you showed above would work, but the flats, nope.

I used to have sandals with car tyres as soles too San!!! Alas the straps on them were not comfortable at all, despite being leather!!!

What’s interesting to me about this post is this thought:
“They will work well if you have an earthy, bohemian and informal edge to your style. That’s not my look, which is why they’re not for me.” — !

I find I am drawn to so many different styles, partly from being exposed to persuasive styling in magazines/stores, or admiring how something looks on another person… and i don’t always have the clearest picture of what is ‘me’ and what isn’t. I suspect having that kind of clarity makes a person much better at shopping and building a good, functional wardrobe…

I loved huraches in the 80s/early90s! But I like the updated ones better. I didn’t know they were coming back. I guess I’m a bit boho.

I love these sandals…I have a very earthy/bohemian style and these are great. I think the many straps are very cute and makes the sandal have an “edge”…I still need to find another pair.
