Christie, I’m glad you’ve embraced the frock over pants look as it suits you to a tee. It’s not for everyone but works for those who like it and wear it well. Maggy London dresses do not always fit me, but the smallest size in this style did and there was no need to alter (it’s a size 2). It’s a narrow cut.

Angie,

Did you have to have that dress taken in? I've looked at Maggie London dresses before, but the smallest size is about one too big for me. This seems to be the case with other darling dresses at Nordstrom. I love BCBG dresses (I'm not sure what the washable material is--polyester?) because they hang well and I don't feel like they are too big (even if the small runs a size too big), but dresses that are made to be fitted are another thing...

I really love the last look. You have made me a total convert to the dress over the jeans look. It is one I now sport regularly.

I have pretty much been with you until now. The dress with pants would make me be a laughing stock. It just does not work, even on cute you. Sorry, but this looks is a real miss.

Thank you so much for the photo demonstration of the different looks possible -- that dress is absolutely perfect for you! Love the color and neckline.

I guess I just must be too old-school, because while I think you look wonderful in all 4 looks, I still prefer it as a regular frock. I am keeping an open mind to the idea, though!

Gorgeous frock, but I'm with Mishka. I don't think it works with any of the trousers, although it looks fabulous on its own.

Absolutely beautiful, Angie! It suits you to a T and looks wonderful. I also love seeing some of your new Spring purchases carry over to your summer wardrobe with this dress.

I brought home "your" Macy's leggings with the zipper to take them for a spin. I'm not sure whether they are winners given my large calf size, but I like the thick opaque material and the seamless waistband.

Thank you for the compliments, ladies. You’re lovely. I really enjoyed hearing which combinations were favourites. I like them all equally because each offers a different mood for the day.

Fab ideas, Budget Babe. Thanks for the inspiration. I LOVED the dress on your blog post today too.

Laura, believe it or not, I actually have a fair amount of cobalt blue in my wardrobe. It’s the only blue, other than a sour turquoise, that I wear. So I guess blue is still my least preferred colour even though I like wearing certain shades of it.

Oneirix, leggings have been around for three years and I’ve travelled to quite a few places in America in that time. Compared to abroad, I’m still left with the same impression. I guess things are different in your neck of the woods. Good to know!

Brooke, no hose in Summertime. But spray-on-hose is a great idea. It evens out all sorts of blemishes and is quite effective. It’s available at most drug stores. Also, the right hose with peep toes is a great fashion forward look.

The dress is fabulous! I love cobalt blue. :) The thing that I find curious is you say leggings aren't popular in the US, which is the exact opposite of true here in California. Everyone from teenagers to middle aged women wear them all year round over here, and they're all over celebrities too.

wonderful ideas! i love the cut, color and neckline of your dress, which fits you like a glove. re: my to the max dress which you commented on, i have since experimented pairing it with 1) patterned tights and wide strap heels 2) leggings and flats and 3) ankle boots and a denim jacket. so many possibilities! thanks for the inspiration :)
