Great bag, Angie! Love the pictures. I’ve been looking for one similar to this, because bags on one shoulder make my shoulder ache (and I think most of them with long straps are a bit dated). Even with my coat-hanger shoulders bags fall off if I don’t hold my shoulder at an odd angle. And sometimes I get tired of carrying my bag in my hand everywhere I go.

Love the bag! Being in a predominately pedestrian city, cross-body bags are a mainstream (though still not as popular as the huge shoulder bags, which I’ve due to arm/shoulder strain). They’re especially helpful when shopping, as they free your hands and arms for your (hopefully environmentally-friendly cloth) shopping bags. (My fav is currently rootote! too cute. http://www.rootote.com.au/rooshopper-c-4.html)

I can’t imagine life without leggings. I was in NYC the other week and was shocked, shocked, shocked! that there weren’t more ladies wearing them. They’re perfect in cold and hot weather!

Ele, you crack me up. I’m not busty and the strap lies comfortably across my chest as long as the bag is light. For the busty gals who have steered away from this look – I have to say that you’re missing out. I know of plenty of busty lasses that sport the look comfortably. I think it’s a question of finding the RIGHT cross body bag. Unlike Marlene, I do not like a wide strap – those were the kind on larger versions that caused pain. But that doesn’t mean they won’t be right for you. Experiment ladies! (Good that you’re already thinking along those lines, Maya).

Lisa, I either wear ballet flats or low heeled pumps with leggings. It’s hard to say what the cut off age is for this look. I’m 38. I have clients in their late 40’s wearing the look as well. It’s imperative that you keep it super sophisticated when your sport the style. It’s all about looking youthful – not young. I hope that makes sense.

Joy, handbag straps are easy to alter. Take them to a shoe repair place and you’ll be sorted.

I saw five people wearing beautiful, small cross body bags down town today. Such a coincidence. Also, a small sling bag is ideal if you carry a huge laptop bag at the same time. I’m leaving for Israel tomorrow and my new little treasure is packed!

I am a bit of a bag lady, so sport a different bag frequently, but I love a cross/messenger bag for supermarket shopping, and for shopping trips with clients, when I need to have my hands free to pick things up.

They can get uncomfortable and give you neck/shoulder pain if worn too much, but for a couple of times a week they’re a fabulous option.
