Love how you put your ensembles together and especially like the black belt. Accessories can change the look of an outfit. Try it. Wear a new jewelry with the same outfit you've worn before, and I will presume people will think you've gone shopping for new clothes. This has happened to me more than a few times.

I personally like the idea of casual necklaces. I find my customers want something "lighter" for spring and summer and I'm offering metal necklaces as well as colorful knotted necklaces. You have shown how elegant a leather corded necklace can look, I also believe its what you wear it with and how you wear it, that makes a difference.

P.S. Love the green cowl neck!

I like that leather cord idea! I have a bunch of pendants and brooches that I have not worn in years--maybe I can get them to work this way. I have also always associated leather cords with the boho look, but you have shown that they can look very sophisticated.

I am drooling over that lime green cowl neck! I want one in a tunic length!

Thanks for chiming in, Tanya. I know that this colour palette isn’t your cup of tea, but I’m happy to have gotten your creative juices flowing. Can’t wait to see your Venetian turquoise pendant sported on a leather cord. This might be one way of adding a casual element back into your style.

Laurel, as always, you crack me up.

Wow, what an inspiring post Angie! The necklace idea is great, I have a turquoise venetian glass hearth pendant that I will try to make work this way. And seeing your outfits is so great! You aways give me so many great ideas.

Great post! Love the pictures!! When you were shopping for that leather cord, I never imagined it was for yourself (it seemed so un-Angie) but it's great and totally works with the adorable pendant. I think because it's shiny leather, not cowhide-ish. I've missed seeing your green Michael Kors bag. All those yummy citrus colors make me want to go eat a lime popsicle or jollyrancher... or maybe key lime pie. Oh no, I don't think your blog is supposed to be making me hungry.

Lena, you and I are necklace twins.

Patricia, thanks for your enthusiasm. Start posting questions on the forum and you’ll accumulate loads of helpful style tips.

Glad to hear you’re still open to the idea, Inge.

Francesca, bib necklaces are fabulous if you’re prepared to make a huge statement. They are not dated at all. I’d wear something like that with faded jeans - GREAT contrast.

SusanD, I have a long neck and very short hair. This combination works well with a turned up collar, both for casual and dressy occasions. I actually always turn my collars up (on jackets too). It’s part of my style I guess. I’ve been doing it since the 80’s and never stopped doing it!

Donna, I love your creativity. Julia was the forum member who stuck a brooch onto a pearl necklace so credit goes to her.

Eva, you’re right!

Maya, I sort of miss my puppies in these pictures.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate you posting your own outfits recently. It's so helpful to see you illustrate concepts you've been advising us to try out! The visual is great and gives me something to aim for. :)
